Insanity, Day 1!

Today is the day!  I've started Insanity!  I just finished the Fit Test and my results were definitely less than impressive!  I completed everything, but the last few exercises were especially hard.  On the plus side, the workout went by really fast.  It has a minute-and-a-half warmup, followed by approx. 3 minutes of stretching.  Then you do each of 8 or 10 exercises to YOUR max for 1 minute--as many reps as you can do.  Each exercise is followed by a minute break in preparation for the next move.  At the end there is also a 3-4 minute cooldown stretch, which was a nice treat.

There were times that my heart was pounding SO HARD!  And other times I felt a little nauseous and light-headed.  I tried to push myself, without hurting myself.  It's been a couple weeks since I've worked out last, and my stamina was definitely hurting.  But I also know the next time I do the Fit Test, I'll improveI'm very much looking forward to these workouts and seeing what I can do in the next 60 days!

My boyfriend & brother-in-law are doing Insanity with me.  I'm really glad to have them doing it with me because it's hard to motivate myself sometimes.  It'll be great to see what they can do for themselves in the next 60 days as well!

My diet was good for most of the day, but we did have my brother's 32nd Birthday Dinner tonight.  I ate smaller portions than usual, but I'm sure they could have been smaller.  I also had a SMALL piece of cake.  But I did better than I've been doing.  This week I'm working on my diet and trying to make healthy dinners with Phil, my sister & her husband.  Diet is my biggest struggle, so it'll be nice to have others working with me on it.

Bummed that tomorrow's Monday already.  I'll check in soon!
