P90X: My Arms Feel like Jello!

So those infamous excuses wanted to creep their way back in this morning and justify why I should skip out on Day 3 of my P90X workout. After completing Plyometrics yesterday for Day 2, I was hurtin...bad. My chest is sore, my legs are wobbly, my back is tight, and my arms are feeling like jello.

The last thing I wanted to do wash push play, so I dilly-dallied on the computer for a bit while drinking my shakeology. Sure enough, the first thing I see in my newsfeed is a YouTube video of the 90-Day RevAb Test Group (http://youtu.be/vohCWmf1SyM). As I am watching this video the guilt started to set in. One of my main motivaters for deciding to start P90X, was seeing my best friend, Jackie's results. She was part of the RevAbs Test Group and altough I did not think she had an ounce to lose, I could not believe how ripped she got after completing the program. So, of course about 30 seconds into the video, there she is being interviewed with her before and after pictures, and 6-pack abs. Argh! That was my sign to get my butt up and get the workout done.

As I started to do the excercises, I was actually surprised that all the soreness I woke up with, seemed to not be an issue. Plyometrics was difinitely a challenge for me because Tony just goes, goes, goes! I had a hard time keeping up, and was completely exhausted after. I guess I am figuring out that I do better with the weights, than the cardio. Anyway, finishing day 3 felt like a big accomplishment because not only did I keep up with the program, I overcame those excuses and followed through on the commitment I made to do this program for myself.

So my big 'ah-ha' moment today is that making the decision to do P90X wasn't just to get ripped, it was also about building confidence in myself, overcoming that doubter voice inside of me, and proving that I can do this.

P90X - I SURVIVED DAY 1 !! (yay me)

So today was a "BIG DAY", it was the day I finally surendered to all my excuses of why I couldn't push play.  I used just about every excuse in the book...'I don't have the time, my energy is low, I don't want to be sore tomorrow, I have an event this weekend and I can't start the diet, my living room is too small, I don't want to make too much noise for the tenant below me, etc...'

Well, now that I work for myself...I have the time; and after converting my garage into a gym...I have the space. So I recruited a work-out buddy, and decided that today was the day that I was going to start P90X. We decided to do the 'classic' version which begins with Chest & Back followed by Ab Ripper X....I think Tony said it best, "I hate it. But I love it.'

I was actually surprised with how well I was able to follow along with the exercises. Don't get me wrong, I difinitely felt the burn, but I also paced myself when I needed to and got through it feeling confident. The last 10 minutes were tough because my arms felt shakey, however my work-out buddy kept me going and challenged me to finish strong (thanks, Pat!)

I am happy to say, that I am excited for tomorrow's work out!

As for the Diet, I started my day with a Chocolate Shakeology. I haven't purchased the recovery drink yet, but plan to since most people recommend it. For Lunch I had a Spinich Salad, and I'm going to cook up a pork roast and asparagus for dinner. Today was the first day I played around with the meal planner, so tomorrow I'm going to take my grocery list with me to stock up for the week. I am a fairly picky eater, so I was happy to see meals on there that I would actually eat.

Thanks for reading my blog! See you on wednesday for more progress results !!
