Seriously Need To Update My Blog Here!

Geez! I haven't written in this blog for AGES now! So, I'm pretty excited to report that I'm 68% of the way to my ultimate weight-loss goal! By following a High-Raw eating plan and working out with BeachBody I have successfully lost and kept off over 30 pounds of excess weight over the past year, which THRILLS ME! I'm really looking forward to seeing my own six-pack abs and Brazil Butt, though! Trust me, I still have plenty of work to do to get to the fitness level and muscle tone I'm looking for...BUT I know without a doubt that I will continue to slowly and steadily lose the remaining pounds while firming and toning and building the muscle I crave! So, that is a great place to find myself!

I would love to help you do the same thing! Let me know if you want to join me on this path to health and fitness!

Ok Gang,

Well, I promised to write an update this week so here it is. My weight has maintained these past two months. So, I haven't lost any more...but I _have_ lost another half inch off my waist and another half inch off my thighs. So, that's good. The "After" picture on my profile (also the lowest one in my photo collection if you want a closer look, lol!) was taken today. So, as I look at my photos from September vs. today's pic I don't see a whole lot of difference...except perhaps definition...which I DO think is coming along.

I have to admit...I haven't really tried THAT hard these past two months. I've been working out pretty consistently...but getting into the "every day workout" routine is a bit of a challenge for me after being mostly sedentary for so long now. I also have to say that a BIG part of my obstacle to working out every day is getting 30 minutes where I know I won't be observed by hubby or our 18 year old son while I'm doing my workout. Seriously, I feel like I look like a spaz doing my Hip Hop Abs workout...even though I LOVE it! Still, I don't like the idea of people walking into the living room while I'm doing it because I feel so self-conscious. Sooo...my plan is to get Power 90, which is what I have been working up to, anyhow. Somehow I feel I'd look like less of an idiot if I'm just doing a workout where I don't need to appear as "cool" as Shaun T doing hip hop moves, lol! And Power 90 is, in my mind, my next step to moving towards P90X, which is my longer-term goal.

So, that said, I feel I _AM_ making progress. And I'm happy that I'm maintaining my weightloss over time and not regaining.

Update Posted On My Daughter's Birthday

Ok, it's been a while since I last posted so I'm writing an update today but I plan to write another one around the week of the 20th to the 24th because I intend to have reached my all-time lowest weight that I can remember recording by that time. The lowest weight I can remember, as an adult, was 162 pounds and that was in approximately 2002. So, 7 years ago. I've generally weighed about 20 pounds more than that, on average, since that time and right now I'm 4 pounds away from that goal, at 166. I'm 5'9" tall, so that's not HUGELY overweight for my height, but I'm shooting for a goal weight of around 140 to 145, keeping in mind that I intend to have far more muscle mass at my ideal weight than I had when I was just "skinny" at age 20 when I got down to an astonishing 122 pounds.

I'm making slow, but steady and constant progress by maintaining a healthy, balanced diet and doing my BeachBody workouts on a regular basis. So, I know this path will lead me to long-term success rather than short-term binge results that will yo-yo me right back up to where I used to be.

I'm especially happy to be so focused and on-track with my fitness goals as we are approaching the holiday season because I know I will stick with my program and will actually continue to lose weight and see results through this time when others may be making very unhealthy and unwise diet and fitness choices! I hope you will join me and allow me to help you along your own journey through this difficult time of year! If you need support to get through it, I'm SO here for you! Let me know what I can do to help you achieve your own fitness success!

90 Days Till My Birthday Committment

Ok, well, as of yesterday, October 24th, it's 90 days to my birthday on January 24th. I will be turning 48 years of age and have committed to being in the best shape possible by that time.

So, a couple of things:

1.) I'm completely cutting out any and all alcohol from my diet during that time. I'm used to drinking a glass of red wine several nights a week with my dinner. But no more, with the one exception that if we go to our favorite, expensive Indian restaurant here in Portland for my husbands birthday the end of November I will allow myself a glass or two. But other than that, absolutely no wine or alcohol.

2.) I am sticking to the 1400 calorie a day eating plan and keeping my fats/carbs/proteins balanced accordingly.

3.) I am working out six days a week with a one day break. Right now I will continue using Hip Hop Abs, which is an awesome workout and I'm seeing great results with. And tomorrow my first shipment of Shakeology arrives, so I will have the workout dvd's that come with that, as well. But I want to work up to moving into P90X. So, that's my objective.

I don't really know how I want to measure results, at this point. I _do_ definitely know I plan to be in a size 7/8 and mostly want to work on my muscle tone and definition. Weight loss is secondary, since I know muscle is heavier than fat. And I have plenty of fat to lose and muscle to gain! So, I'm flexible on the weight part.

I'd LOVE to have a few people supporting me, holding me accountable and helping me track my progress!

Any takers? Please email me! tracy@coachtracy.com

Thanks a bunch and wish me luck!

Back Peddled A Wee Bit...

Well, I committed to recording my measurements and weight on the 20th of each month, so that's today. It's been one month since I last did that and I'm feeling good about where I am, but I DID lose a little ground this past month due to getting sick and falling off my diet and workout routine a bit. Overall I think I still did a pretty good job, but I am really RECOMMITTED to my objective now that I'm better and really energized to get after my goals!

My weight is up 6 pounds from last month, but I believe part of that is due to muscle gain. I am still easily in the same size 10 jeans. In fact, even though my weight is a little heavier, my new size 10 jeans are actually LOOSE on me! WOOT! I was kind of taking a shot-in-the-dark with regard to my ideal goal weight...because I've never really actively worked on building MUSCLE vs. just getting "skinny." At age 20 I went on the Atkins diet plan and was jogging on a daily basis and lost 30 pounds, weighing the least I ever have as an adult; 122. I was in a size 5/7. For my height (5'9") that was really WAY too thin! But that's what I was shooting for, thin. Now, nearly 30 years later and having struggled with maintaining a healthy weight all those years, I'm MUCH more interested in building muscle and becoming FIT rather than skinny.

So, bottom line for me is this: I intend to wear a size 8 at my ideal size. Honestly, I don't feel like I'm THAT far away from that goal...so, I'm not so worried about the weight anymore. That's a HUGE accomplishment for me! I've been OBSESSED with WEIGHT my entire life! Now I'm more about just building the muscle and getting and STAYING in a size 8. I don't really care so much about what the scale says...though, that IS a little bit of a factor. But I care WAY more about what I see when I look in the mirror. Muscle tone and definition.

Ok, that's it for my monthly update. I'll see you again this time next month!

Size 10! Woo Hoo!!!

Yesterday I went shopping for new jeans. Had a "blow-out" in my favorite pair so headed out to try on new levi's. In the past this has NOT been one of my favorite activities because I never fit into the size I wish I could and those glaring, floresent lights have never been my friend when looking at myself in the full-length, fitting room mirrors!

Well, I grabbed two different styles of levi's brand jeans in a size 12 HOPING I wouldn't need to go up from there. I've been in a size 12/13 for several years now and obviously I'd prefer to lean more toward the 12 side than the 13! Well, I was pleasantly surprised when both pair fit...even loosely! I told my husband it wasn't going to be long until I was going to come back for a size smaller!

Well, I wasn't kidding! LOL! I got home, took all the tags off and put on a pair then went for a short walk around the neighborhood. The entire time I was walking I was having to constantly pull the pants up because they were too darn big! So, I put both pair and all the tags back into the bag with the receipt and headed back to the store to try on the size 10's. I kind of dreaded the thought that maybe the 10's would be too tight and I might just have to take the 12's home with me again...but I wanted to try them on, just to see.

To my delight, both 10's FIT!!! And very comfortably!!! I'm SO PSYCHED!!!

For my height (5'9") a size 7/8 is perfect for me. So, I only have one more size to go! As far as clothing sizes are concerned. I STILL have a long way to go on building my muscle mass and endurance, but HEY! I'm making some really awesome progress and I'm very excited about it!

I'll take new pics in the new jeans and post them soon!

Stay Tuned ;)
