No matter who you are, how fit you are or aren't, everyone feels like quitting thier diet, or fitness program at one point or another. It is enevitable that you will at some point on your healthy journey, put off working out or eating healthy. That's ok as long as you know how to combat it when it happpens and it for sure will happen like it did to me.
Today was day six of my second round of P90X. The dreaded Kempo X routine. Those that know me know I hate cardio. The whole day I was dreading and hoping it was a different workout progrom. No such luck appeared as I looked at my schedule.
I was 25 minutes into my workout that was 60 minutes total, I was tired and I found myself saying to myself. "That's good enough for today, just push stop." The golden question was what did I do next, quit or keep going?
As if it where a message from 'The Almighty Himself', Tony Horton utters on the DVD in my living room. "If you feel like quiting don't. Just press pause and take a break."
I pressed pause, waited about 30 seconds and finished the workout 35 minutes later!
You see quitting is always an emotional decision. You never have to quit and if you have the right coaching and team supporting you it makes it that much harder to quit.
If you feel like quitting and when the thought enters your mind you have to see it for what it is. It is simply the old you trying to take control.
Pause, take a breath, regroup and then attack your goal even harder.
You can do it and together we all make better results.
