Praise the Lord.... Yes, I'll say again <smile>. I just spoke with a young woman, who'll is engaged to married and has decided to get herself fit and healthy, not for vanity sake. But to be fit and healthy, so that she can be a great example for her son, as in doing her part to contributing in living a long life as in a healthy existence and not just existing.... as God does His part. And with that said, hopefully fit to see her future grandchildren <smile>. We got together via phone to discuss her whys and setting up goals...and ended with prayer. After all, God wants her to be healthy and fit so she can fulfill the purpose and dreams He has placed in her heart. Umm, just think... she is doing activities to contribute to a healthier heart, instead of having to rely on medications.
Well, I got a call and I was excited that she got a great report from her doctors office. Keep in mind we just started almost a week and a half-ago. The nurse informed her that she had lost six pounds!!!!! She had decided to stay committed to her goals and dreams for her future... and she is already seeing results, therefore succeeding. She is racing towards the finish line... One Day, One Step At A Time! We are being about lifestyle change and we are not anxious! Consistency and Being Patient is her Motto.
This why I love being a Team Beachbody Coach. The business does reward one financially, but it's rewarding to see people get their lives back and experiencing a change for the better. Yes, it is a joy encouraging others to participate in creating a healthier life for themselves. As a mother bird, I fill so proud of her!
Refuse to rely on spandex to hide or pack away excess flesh hanging over the waistband of your favorite pants. Yet, refuse to die to be skinny(via starving yourself almost to death), to resemble the latest waif imagine in the various shallow fashion or celebrity magazines (get a Health or Fitness magazine instead).
Decide and choose to eat a healthy well balance meal everyday. In fact, you should eat three moderate meals everyday, as well as small healthy snacks (vegs, nuts, fruit) every two to three hours throughout the day to keep your metabolism charged up. Please do not allow yourself to become overweight by eating everything your taste buds desire.
Be responsible and take control over your life. Do not become lazy about your health. Refuse to rely on spandex to hide or pack away excess flesh. Be proactive about staying fit, healthy and well. It is not up to the government or others to oversee your health and wellness. It is a choice. Therefore, decide to be fit (notice I did not say skinny), lean and healthy size you desire to be, before you are. Commit it in your heart and walk it out in your daily choices as though you are already that size. Think with a mindset of being fit , lean and succeed! After all, a person is as they thinketh! Say, 'I am fit, lean, healthy and fabulous! I eat to live and I never live to eat.' For it is written:' for life and death is in the power of your tongue'.
Again, take responsibility for your health and wellness. Read and study great books about achieving a healthy, fit and wellness lifestyle. And it truly does help to pray that you will be able to obtain, retain, practice and sow what you have learned into the lives of others. God wants us to treat our temple (bodies) with respect and to use it for His Glory. Being out of shape and tired can hinder us from doing our best. ****************************************************************** SUMMER IS COMING....It Is Time To Pull Out The Shorts! Coach Dollmeshi'a {Fit4Life Doll}
Summer is just around the corner. Which means it will be time to pack up those comfy sweaters, sweats and bring out the summer wardrobe. If the thought of pulling on a T-shirt and a pair of shorts — much less a bathing suit — makes you cringe, take note before you jump on the latest diet bandwagon. Yes, the habits of getting comfortable in layers of clothing to keep warm during a blizzard of a winter, suddenly turned into cover up clothing, to tried to ignore and hide gaining weight. Now you're anxious to those unwanted pounds again. However, let's not give into dieting, but let us purpose ourselves to make a habit of good exercise and more nutritious food choices. In other words a healthier lifestyle change. In fact, Vonda Skinner Skelton shares with us five common weight control myths and the facts you need to make healthy choices for you and your family.
Myth 1: Eating certain foods (like grapefruit or cabbage soup) will burn fat. Truth: There is no food or product that can burn fat, block fat, or flush fat out of the body.
"Concentrating on these foods may cause an initial weight loss simply because you're taking in fewer calories, not because you're specifically burning more fat than with other diets," says Dr. Lawrence Cheskin, director of the Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center. "But the results are temporary. Once you resume eating normally, the weight quickly returns."
Myth 2: Skipping meals is a good way to lose weight. Truth: Most lean adults eat three balanced meals a day, beginning with breakfast.
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day," says Carole Lewis, national director of First Place health program and author of The Divine Diet. "But most Americans are guilty of eating little or no breakfast, followed by a large lunch and an even larger dinner. A better choice would be to eat like a king at breakfast, a prince at lunch, and a pauper at dinner."
A recent Harvard University study found that breakfast eaters are nearly 50 percent less likely to be obese than those who skip the morning meal. That's because eating breakfast, especially one with whole grains and protein, helps maintain blood sugar, giving you the energy you need to make it through the day. Plus, Lewis notes, "skipping meals only leads to overeating later in the day."
Myth 3: You must avoid all sugar if you want to maintain a healthy weight. Truth: For most people, a small amount of sweets can be included in a healthy food plan.
By eating only small servings of the sweet stuff, you can feed the need for sugar without sabotaging your health. Keep a bag of Hershey's Kisses™ in the refrigerator and treat yourself to one — every day if you'd like. It's only 25 calories, but that melt-in- your-mouth flavor feels like a real indulgence.
Just be careful. "Many overweight men and women are addicted to sugar and find losing weight is much easier if they omit it most of the time," Lewis says. "For the rest of us, a small dessert or piece of candy keeps the sugar-craving at bay."
Myth 4: Low carb or low fat diets are the best way to lose weight. Truth: The best way to lose weight is to eat a balanced, portion- controlled, well-rounded diet, including all food groups.
Proponents of fad diets would have you think that one food group is inferior to another, or that one type of calorie is worse than others. The truth is, a calorie is a calorie, and the only way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you take in.
The key is to choose your carbs wisely. Avoid processed carbohydrates, like refined sugar and flour, and concentrate on whole grains and fresh fruits and vegetables. Even fats have a place in a healthy diet.
Choose olive oil, canola oil, and other monounsaturated fats, and limit fatty meats and trans fats — those often found in processed breads, cookies, candy, and pastries.
"Any diet that eliminates one or more of the six food groups should be considered a fad diet," Lewis says. She recommends balance instead: a food plan that consists of 20 percent protein, 55 percent complex carbohydrates, and 25 percent fat. She also adds that "all food groups should be eaten in the proper amounts to build strong cells, while allowing us to lose unwanted fat."
The key to healthy eating actually begins at the grocery store, according to Lewis. Plan your meals and stock up on healthy snacks.
Myth 5: Losing weight is just a matter of will power. Truth: Since we're spiritual people, caring for our physical bodies is also spiritual matter.
While evangelical Christians are often good at abstaining from unhealthy habits such as smoking or drugs, the majority of us don't view eating as a "spiritual" issue. But in a letter to the Christians in Corinth, the Apostle Paul wrote, "Do you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Whether we eat too much or too little of the right things, how we go about eating is a spiritual matter.
"Trying to lose weight without bringing our spiritual side into balance is much like being on one end of a seesaw without a partner," Lewis says. "God is extremely interested in every facet of our being, but only when we give Him first place in our life can He make the changes that will last.
Don't fall for the myths. If you're trying to drop a few pounds, start by losing the lies about dieting and holding onto the truth about healthy eating.
And why not take the opportunity to start a fitness group within
your sphere of influence, be it the office or place of fellowship
(Church).
******************* Have A Fit and Fabulous Day! Fit4Life Doll
This one is dedicated to my buddy, GetFitWithWendi, because she always encourages me to step up to the plate and follow through <smile>, as in blogging. You know it’s a wonderful feeling when you miss seeing your buddies because you don’t have enough time to log into Wowy, (because time is of the essence factor as in running late). Yeah, I really enjoy logging in, not just to enter a contest, but to see my buddies aspiring to do the same thing as I…getting fit and fabulous.
By the way, if I have not told you lately, you gals and guys are looking marvelous. Wowy!
The BeachBody Team's Wowy Room is an awesome system. It is a means to encourage all of us to stay the course. In addition, all of you really motivate me to follow through, because I am no hypocrite. What I expect of those who have asked me to coach them, I expect more of myself. Besides, I’m no wimp.
Yes, there is a synergy of success within the Wowy System. We all bounce off each other’s success and truly happy for one another’s achievements and success. We are one group of friends that never sabotage another to eat the wrong thing or skip an exercise. When one wins, we all win!
And if I haven’t thanked you lately. Let me do so now. Thank You!!! I started out with SlimN6, however, seeing the various programs others were using in the Wowy Room, stirred my curiosity to challenge myself to try other programs. Besides as a Coach, I should be hip on the other programs. In addition, my clients were inquiring which one would be best for them.
In fact, I really wanted to do P90x, however, I had to modify almost every segment because of my hip replacement. So I never felt like I accomplished much. However, seeing an increased use of Turbo Jam within the Wowy room, spark an interest. Finally, I jumped in and purchased it. WoWy! It was so awesome and fun, I didn’t feel like I really was working out…until the next day of soreness.
Suddenly, I was able to go back and join my hubby in P90x (because I do like working out with weights). Only to do Chalean’s Turbo Jam afterward, because I needed Chalean’s energetic music and movements to groove to during my workouts. And that is another reason I love the Team BeachBody System… you can actually customized your exercise routine by the trainer to fit your personality and physical capability needs.
But if it were not for the Wowy System of buddy’s sharing what programs they’re using and showcasing their success, I might have not been given the ultimate of all workout DVD’s…Chalean Extreme. I was coaching my clients, yet unable to have input on the new workout DVD they purchased by Chalean. And yep, I jumped up and purchased it! It was awesome and have best of everything I liked about SlimN6, P90x and Turbo Jam all wrapped up in one. I’m seeing the results faster and I’m having fun doing it.
Bottom line, don’t ever stop your program because you think it’s too boring and not keeping your interest. Continue to customize and tweak your programs until you get the right fit, your body deserves it. After all, we were designed to be: FIT AND FABULOUS!
Nothing Like A Coach Encouraging You To Just Do It!
Well, I reluctantly submitted to allow Jerry to become my personal coach some months ago. Something I really was hesitant doing, after all, he's my husband and I can't hide the fact that I may not follow through on a goal he has set up for me to do. I remember the last time I allowed him to become my accountability partner in over spending at the department stores. Talk about right up on you and watching your every move in the mall. Ladies it okay to allow your husband to coach you into a awesome fit body (inside and out), but never agree to making him your budgeting...shopping accountability partner. He'll convince you and shame you out everything you know you really need in your wardrobe.) All kidding aside(then again was I kidding???)
Well, a girlfriend and I have decided to encourage one another various goals we wanted to accomplish. Well after returning from her vacation, she felt it very imperative to get to her spin class to charge up her metabolism to get rid of any vacation baggage... if you can crasp what I mean <smile>. Well, I've spoken to her numerous times about BeachBody's wonderful programs to incorporate into her fitness regime. She stated she was now ready to hear about it and why not join her for a spin class. SPIN CLASS???? HOW CAN I DO SPINNING WITH HIP REPLACEMENT???? Well, Coach Jerry, my hubby said, "OF COURSE YOU CAN DO IT! YOU NO QUITTER DOLL, GO FOR IT! AFTER ALL, DON'T WANT TO BE AN ENCOURAGEMENT TO YOU GAL PAL?" Why did he said that, I thought to myself. See want I mean about having a husband of a coach. They know you... Up Close And Personal. He knows I'm a cheerleader for everyone and would jump right in there to help someone to get over the hump. So I just close my eyes and opened my mouth and agreed to go spinning.
The next morning I prayed all the way to the Health Club. What a pain I thought, having to get up and drive across town to workout. Thank God for a system that gives you wonderful results right from the privacy of your own home. Once I got there, I was amazed at most of the individual's lower body region (legs, thighs, etc...) appeared strong and fit, but their upper body was weak thin. Well, I had to stop criticizing what I was saw, after all, they could spin and I might be able to do one minute of what they were capable of doing. Well, I started out easy and finished strong to my surprise. Not only did I accomplish the task, but I was in intermediate instead of beginners. My friend was totally impressed. I told her I prayed before coming <smile> and I know my workouts using the BeachBody programs gave me strength and endurance to follow through. And because I witness the other individuals and herself, I was able to speak with wisdom how she need more to her fitness routine than just spinning. That Beachbody would give her a total cardio and strength training workout without inconvenience of driving across town. In fact, when you're finish your workout you have the convenience of going upstairs to your own lush bathroom and pamper yourself after such a workout.
Well, got her thinking and made me grateful for the BeachBody Method of working out! ~Coach Doll
