Ending on a High Note: P90X

Wow, I haven't blogged in a while on here! I love how we have that blogging function and I should use it more often. It's surprising that I've done so many Beachbody programs, but I had yet to get around to P90X. Everyone and their mother has heard about the program, and I've had it at my disposal for a while, but after Insanity it didn't really excite me like some of the other programs (sorry Xers). Anyways, with the last 90 days of the year upon us (time certainly flies!) I figured I'd see what all the fuss was about, and I'm pleased to say I completed my first week of P90X.

It's not as killer as Insanity, but it's definitely a good workout. I'm finding that I can do a lot more pushups than I thought I could when I did Chest and Back on Day #1 and that's always a pleasant surprise, I guess Shaun T taught me well! I've heard horror stories about how hard Plyo was, it was definitely hard, but nothing too crazy. My calfs are definitely screaming from legs and back today, and though the first half of Yoga X was hard to get through, I really liked the balance portion.

I have an event to go to in about 7 weeks so I'm excited to see what results I will have by then. The biggest thing for me is just completing the program because I recommend it all the time and have yet to do it. I always get excited about wanting to try it when I see the infomercial though. I can't wait to see what the MCX2 looks like though. I've done a few One on Ones which were fun (Mason's Choice).

Insanity

I'm finishing up the first week of Max Intervals, and it is intense! Everything is kicked up a notch, and it's like starting from Day #1 all over again. All I know is I'm going to get even better on all my moves for the next fit test because there are switch kicks in the warm up, and more pushups then I know what to do with. I haven't lifted a weight since December, and I have some great definition in my arms. The V pushups are hard, but they will sculpt your shoulders. I am so excited, I'm already thinking about Round II. I think I'm going to follow-up Insanity with P90X and maybe add in extra videos depending on how I handle the X. Besides being a great workout program, I think Insanity is a definite confidence booster. There is no way you survive this workout for two months and NOT believe you can't do any/everything.

I'm lucky that I live in NY and I get to actually go to one of Shaun T's classes in Manhattan. It's going to be a dance class, but its said to be intense. I can't wait to meet him, and I'm definitely going to have to ask how the hell to do those Push Up Jumps!
