I loved them both. And I think they are both workouts I could keep coming back to. What I am finding with Beach Body workouts is that when you finish one, you can move on to another and then back to the first for what feels like a fresh start but at a higher level. I look forward to continuing to build by Beach Body library.
I finally ended my gym membership - one year after starting Beach Body. I just kept thinking - there is no way that these at home vidoes are really going to replace the gym. But I am in so much better shape than after years of going to the gym every day.
Ok so P90X vs. ChaLEAN.
LIke many others have said, I don't recommend P90X unless you are already in pretty good shape. Form is very, very important. I have seen a lot of people get shoulder and neck injuries from trying to do pull ups and pushups at TOny's pace or from doing yoga incorrectly.
If you dont have good strong muscles, I think it is tough to really maintain proper form in p90x - unless you used to be in great shape and have good muscle memory.
So while I probably love p90x more than ChaLEAN by just a little, I recommend starting with ChaLEAN and the going to p90X. ChaLEAN takes some coordination, so if you have two left feet, go through each workout first with no weights just to make sure you get comfortable with the moves.
