Day 5

I did quite well last night I'd say. I had to snack some before we left since dinner was at 8, but snacking helped me pass on the free chips and dips. I was satisfied with water and ate slowly until I was comfortable. I brought the leftovers home and feel good about controlling myself last night.

Right now I'm waiting for my breakfast to digest, then I'll be doing my Sweat workout. I'm tired today from such a late night, so it'll take some extra mental motivation to get through the workout. But I know how great I'll feel afterward, and that's what I'm focused on.

The burgers will be turkey instead of beef, but I have a feeling the host is going to load them with calories in his seasoning efforts. So, I'll skip the mayo and bun tonight. I'll probably want some coffee while I'm there so I'll drink nothing but water until then. I'll snack some before I go since that helped me with portion control last night. Every little bit helps!

Day 4

Here I am, at day 4. Yay! Sculpt was great today. Mentally, I really had to discipline myself in order to do the workout (and not quit early), but I kept thinking about how I look and feel now and how I want to look and feel in 90 days. It worked! I finished my workout and finished strong!

The close push-ups still really hurt my elbows. I'm not sure if I'll ever really be able to do them: not because of muscle strength but because of tennis elbows...in both elbows (lucky me).

I love that I have the energy to get up early again. For quite a while it was a struggle to get up and actually be up. It's really amazing how much exercise affects every past of your life.

I have a dinner to go to tonight at a Mexican restaurant. I've already looked at the online menu and have been trying to think through my options.

11 more days and I take my next progress measurements and pictures. There may not be a difference yet (visibly) but at least I've set a short-range goal for myself to keep me going.

Keep pushing play!

Day 2

Another day done, another goal accomplished! I did my sculpt 1/2 today, and it felt great! I'm surprised at how many push-ups I can do since I haven't done any in a while. Also, I'm using the resistance bands this time instead of the weights. I really like the flexibility in being able to adjust the tension easily as needed for each exercise.

I went for a bike ride last night and it was wonderful! I may not be able to go for a morning ride anymore, but now that afternoons are cooler it feels good to go when my husband gets home and can watch the kids. Just me, the bike, and the pavement...so liberating.

Day 1

I did it. I took my pictures and measurements. I started P90. It felt good. It's day one and I've already achieved a goal, now that's a good start.

I was surprised how much the power yoga worked as a warm up, but even more surprised at how quickly I tired in the first round! I'm considering myself Level 1, forget the 1/2. My goal: to be at level 2 by my 15 day mark. (I'll also take more photos and measurements on day 15 just for my own records. I don't know whether or not progress will be visible yet at that time, but it's a short-term goal, and I need that to stay motivated.)

The ab section was torture, but I already knew it would be. I used to have strong abs, and I hope I have what it takes to get them again.

Kudos to me for skipping the kitkats at the WalMart checkout line. Coffee and chocolate sounded like a great snack, but I said no. And stuck to it. :)

New Beginnings

Wow! It has been a really long time since I was on here. Thanks to marriage and new step-kids my workout habits have had their ups and downs. My first Christmas as a married lady certainly didn't do me any good either...how I love Christmas cookies! Stressful times have done their job of sabotage on me too. Thankfully, I haven't really gained weight, but I have lost so much tone that I had before. I feel like the perfect example of skinny-fat. But, it's time for a change. It's time to make time for ME. So, I have close to 90 days before I'm in NC for the Christmas holidays; that's the perfect amount of time to almost complete a program and really prove to myself (by proving to them) what I'm capable of. It's time for P90. And this time I need to do it for real. For me. I'll listen to my body. I'll give it what my body says I'm capable of giving on its terms rather than on unrealistic terms I foolishly set too high. If I mess up, I won't give up. If I need a day off, I'll take it without feeling guilty. And if I eat too many Kit Kats due to Mother Nature's insistence, it's ok. It's only once a month, after all. And all the good foods I eat far outweigh those few times of indulgence. I will focus on the good. And I will take my day 1 pictures tomorrow morning, the first day of my program. So Tony, are you ready? I'm a challenge to keep motivated. But we can do it. I can do it.
