Hold your line

The lessons I've learned riding dirt bikes are all coming in handy with my work with improving my health.  In mx riding we talk about holding your line.  When you're riding a course, a narrow trail with other riders.  By choosing your line and sticking to it, you reduce the risk of taking each other out.

This is serving me well in my day to day life, adding in P90X and healthier eating habits.

There's another saying related to your line, and that's regarding the quality of the line you choose.  To take an A line, is to take a line that looks more challenging, but ridden well- will put you our in front.  The habits I'm learning and the extra effort I'm putting into learning about my nutrition are the A Lines to a better me.

So Hold your line and chose an A Line-

Visualization is an important part of reaching goals.  Successful business owners have been taught this for years by their consultants and mentors; the information applies to more than just the business aspects of life.

I've taken the tools I've learned in business and been able to apply the resources to my nutrition goals, my fitness goal, even my relationship goals.  If you're new to visualizing, it may feel awkward at first.  If you can get past the newness, you may find it to be a great catalyst in your transformation process with Beachbody as well as any other area of your life you choose to apply it.

Book/ Audio/ Video- The Secret

Book/ Audio- The Answer

Book/ Audio- The Magic of Thinking Big

These can be a great start to help you understand the power of visualization and get you closer to your goals.

If you are a real Go-getter and want to do something right now, consider a vision board.  You can print images off the internet or your computer, cut out words and images from magazines/ periodicals around the house and use push pins or magnets to get them up right away.  It doesn't take money, you don't have to buy any kits to get going on your dreams and moving you closer to your goals.  You don't have to buy into gimmick, do a search for "vision boards" and get started towards the new you.

The beachbody community can be a great source for your vision board materials.  I looked up Success stories from people like me, using the programs I'm using and I focused on the change. I used the others in the community for motivation and support to get me to my goals.

It works!

P90x Recovery Drink

I've been asked my opinion and how I came to it enough to post it here.  I hope you find it helpful.  This is just my honest opinion.  Hopefully BB doesn't take any offense.

My experience with the P90x Recovery Drink:

So last September my boyfriend and I were starting P90x. The first week of the program I was on the boards, I was exploring the site and doing the X. I didn't know then, and I couldn't have imagined- that I would do another round. I just knew that I was going to do this thing for 90 days. I had some goals, I was going to commit 100% and I was going to Bring it for 90 days.

I wanted to give myself every opportunity to succeed in that 90days. If I was going to invest 3 months, I wanted to know for sure that I did the best I could. If I did not get the results I imagined, I wanted to know that it wasn't because I ate something wrong or skipped one too many workouts. I was going to do this, and if I the results I ended up with were going to be what my body would allow when following the P90x Classic program. (Confession: I still had one cup of coffee each day, but I did not allow for cup number 2 and I drank extra water hoping to overwrite any effect the diuretic had on my body.)

I also am not the most financially independent person, like most people, I need to watch where I spend my money. I didn't want to get sucked into the hype and buy a bunch of BB or P90x stuff, just because of the name.

So my boyfriend and I made a deal. I would order one tub of the P90x Recovery and he went to the store and picked up not one, but two other "recovery" drinks. We would try them side by side for the first month and decide from there based on effectiveness and price.

Other Drink #1
- Didn't mix well with water- it wouldn't hardly dissolve.
- It tasted HORRIBLE
- It cost about the same as P90x Recovery (factored in shipping and looked at number of servings.)
- It was debatable whether or not it helped. It was hard to tell if it was doing anything for our bodies. Maybe, but not sure.

Other Drink #2
- Didn't mix well in water- it was lightyears better than the first drink, but still really bad
- It tasted OK. It was tolerable, unlike the first drink, but we'd still be forcing it on ourselves
- It cost about the same as P90x Recovery (factored in shipping and looked at number of servings.)
- It was debatable whether or not it helped. It was hard to tell if it was doing anything for our bodies. Maybe, but not sure.

P90x Recovery Drink
- Mixed really well in water. I can't even compare this to the others- I wouldn't even have commented on the mixing, it just worked perfectly.
- I tasted GREAT. It's like a Orange sherbert/ Ice cream bar- or if not that, something close.
- Cost was comparable to the others, especially if on a membership. It seemed more expensive at first because of number of servings and shipping. A close eye makes it close enough to consider.
- ABSOLUTELY helped our bodies. The first week I was worried that any day I would be too sore to keep going. I was concerned about the fatigue building up and me quitting as I had so many other times, so many other attempts. Drinking the Recovery within 1 hour of finishing the workout (right away for me,) the next day I felt great. I could tell I worked out, but I wasn't sore. It allowed me to not only stick with it, but to push myself. Oh and it is sooooo tasty after Ab Ripper X !!

So here, in our house, we will always have the P90x Recovery formula around. Can you live without it, sure. But I wouldn't, it's really helped me get where I'm at and I plan on using it after other intense exercise from now on. Love it!

New Year, No excuses

Here we are in the new year.  I finished my first P90x round in late December and I couldn't be happier with the results.

Going into the new year with a new body give me so much to look forward to.  Shopping for clothes might be fun for once.  Wearing summer clothes offers less coverage and layers to hide under and I'm not even worried about it.  This is great.

Now the question is, what am I going to do with this fresh start?

Of course i'm going to keep it.  To use my new strength as a base to build on!  I'm excited to see what more I can do.  I'll be starting a new round of the X January 11.  Until then, I'll be eating clean and working out.

Have a great new year everyone!
