Phase 3

Hello to all my faithful readers, which is me.  Just a quick update.  I'm currently in Week 10 of this cycle, and I'm hoping to finish strong.  My day 60 photos are up and I can't believe how different I look.  Just in case anyone else is reading this you can see them at http://teambeachbody.com/connect/message-boards/-/message_boards/message/42686103?_19_delta=75&_19_keywords=&_19_advancedSearch=false&_19_andOperator=true&cur=4

Diet is still going strong.  I really haven't had much choice since I've been fighting Colitis, but I feel good right now.

I've enjoyed this so much that I've decided to become a coach.  There are several reasons for this, but the most important one is that I just want to be part of beachbody.  I can feel and see my life changing, and maybe I can help other people achieve their goals too.

Til next time,

Christmas is Over

Well, Christmas is over.  I hope it treated all my readers well, which I know it did, because that's me.  Oh well, for a quick update.  In my cardio plan I am now on Week 7.  I am still very happy about my progress being made with my running schedule.  I am up to 4 miles now and I'm going to do my first 5 mile run tomorrow.  My legs are sore though, so we'll see how it goes.   My P90X program was cut back.  I am still on Week 5, or doing Week 5 over again.  This was my decision because I was not happy with the way my workouts went.  Truth is, I just missed several of my P90X workouts because of Christmas, Christmas Eve, family, my wife's family, blah blah blah.  Everyone knows how the week goes.  I was able to get my runs done in the morning, but couldn't find time some days for my actual workouts.  So, I've just decided to start Week 5 over again.

As for my diet, so far I'm still doing pretty well.  I did sneak a treat or two Christmas Eve, but in my defense they were everywhere.  But, I have done really well so far.

I took my Day 30 photos and measurements.  I have my photos attached to the Beachbody Thread that we have been working on.  For all my readers that are curious, here is the link:  http://teambeachbody.com/connect/message-boards/-/message_boards/message/37029873

As for my current weight, I now stand at 185 pounds!  That's 25 pounds from my start date, 28 pounds from the day I first created my new profile.  So, I'm pretty stoked.

Till next time

Week 2 of the P90X is done!

Well, week 2 of the program has come to a close for me.  I'm proud to say that I nailed every workout again.  Day's 4 and 5 are the toughest for me.  Yoga followed by Legs and Back.  But, I did it and saw improvements from Week 1.  I've also closed out week 3 of my diet and my cardio routine.  I'm happy to say that in the last 3 weeks I have lost 20 pounds!  I'll say it again, 20 pounds in three weeks!

I'm sure the weight will start to become tougher now that I got all the beer, sugars and salt weight off.  I don't know if that makes any sense but I know that a lot of weight came off fast just due to my jumpstart diet.

Today is stretchx for me and then Week 3 of the P90X program starts tomorrow!

The Bad News

Well, today's Day 10 of my P90X round.  So far things are going pretty good.  My cardio is getting stronger; I ran 3 miles again this morning.  My diet is going strong, of course I don't have much to say about that (prison diet do to doctor’s orders), and my workouts are going strong.  Today I got arms and shoulders, and then abs.  I'm looking forward to it.

Now, for the bad news.  For everyone that has read my blog (which counting me equals one) knows that I'm on a strict diet from the doctor and I've been fighting a stomach illness for some time.  Although I seem to be on the upside on things, and I measure this from lack of pain, my colon was still pretty infected at my last colonoscopy (about a month ago).  So, yesterday, right in the middle of my plyo's, the doctor called and said that I tested positive for Chronic Ulcerative Colitis.  It's a disease of your bowels, as in your colon, etc.  Do you know how hard jump knee tucks are without getting bad news right before you do a set?  Trying doing those 30 seconds after hearing that.  I pushed it out of my mind and finished plyo's.  I knew if I stopped to think about it I wouldn't get it done.  I'm glad I did; great sweat.

Ultimately I knew it was probably going to come down to this or Crohn's, but for some reason things are easier when it hasn't been confirmed yet.  Oh well, all I can do is keep working out and wait to see what is ahead.  I've also got two classes I'm trying to finish so I can get into a Master's program come January, so I'm going to end this for now.  Till next time,

New Diet Working

Wow, I've finished Week 1 of the program.  Today is StretchX day and I plan on doing that today around 4:00 to 4:30.  I can honestly say that I felt like I busted my ass every day this 1st week.  I was sore pretty much the whole week, but surprisingly not as sore today as I thought I would be.  I remember on my last round I would get sore after Legs and Back almost every time.  Don't get me wrong, I'm still sore, but not as bad as I was after Plyometrics.  Maybe the yoga helped, who knows.  Also, on a side note, I can't believe how much you sweat doing yoga.

All right, here's a rundown of everything else.  My second round was delayed because of a stomach illness.  The doctor's still think I have Crohn's, although I keep testing negative for it.  What we do know is that part of my colon is all jacked up.  It doesn't hurt that bad right now, but this summer it got bad enough that if I was on my feet for more than a minute then I was in bad pain.  A few weeks ago I had another colonoscopy and things had not gotten better.  So now, I'm on a pretty strict diet.  It's basically nothing but water, a cup of black coffee in the morning if I want it, and basic food.  Seafood at least 3 times a week, or chicken.  They said if I wanted steak it had to be well done, so, basically no steak for me.  At least 4 - 5 small meals, with 2 being small snacks.  Fruits or Vegetables with every meal.  No dairy, no sugar, very little salt if any, pretty bland.  But, it is what it is.

Well, two weeks ago (December 17) when I went to the doctor's I weighed 210 lbs.  I started a cardio plan and my new diet the next day.  That following Tuesday (last week) is when I started my P90X round.  So, as of this week, I am starting Week 3 of my Cardio and Diet plan and Week 2 of P90X.

Now, as of this morning, and this is when I first got up, I weighed 195 lbs!  That's 15 pounds already.  In my first round I started at 215 and the lowest I ever got was 200.  This has confirmed, at least for me, how important diet and cardio are.

Stay strong everybody, (or me, because I don't know who would read this) and till next time.
