My Power90 Day 1/Day 90 pics showed some great changes. These for P90X won't. 60 days in and no weight changes. Some better definition though, and a few inches changed for the better here and there with the increases in strength and stamina through the X.
Tonight's Legs & Back with ARX was a complete struggle! On the plus side, I ripped off a ton of pull-ups, much more unassisted than ever before. With that came some serious heart rates, and it really gassed me through the routine - plus it was hot in the house, further making it a tough workout. Really, really, really wanted to push ARX into tomorrow, but I pushed on through and GOT IT DONE!!!
Tomorrow Kenpo X after a long morning surf session.
Half way (to where, I'm not too sure). Killed Plyo last night. I feel I could bring more to the weight circuits, but it is what it is. Increased weight tonight, and picked up a few more reps on the pull ups. Still, the number of reps seems so low. But I KPP. Did get through ARX completely, keeping up, without pausing tonight. That's a mini-victory for me.
Exercise isn't my thing. I like how I feel AFTER exercise. I don't like much about it while in it (or while anticipating needing to do it). But, it's necessary.
I do like how Kenpo goes fast. And in Yoga, I like the first few stretches, then hate it, then at about the 43 minutes left mark I enjoy it somewhat again with the stretching. I have found the stretching feels good for the sore, tight muscles from the circuits/cardio.
But hey, it's DAY 45!!! That is something ~ particularly given the initial fear of even attempting the X.
Today was Day 38, but really a catch up day for me. I missed Monday's workout - after spending all day at the beach with lots of surfing, didn't have it in me. So played catchup today - Monday's routine yesterday, Plyo this morning, Back & Biceps with ARX tonight. GRRRRRRR I'm wiped, but in a good way.
I plowed thru Back & Biceps Wednesday, and it really worked my arms. The biceps are still good and sore. Yoga X went okay. Still can't hold all the way through that last "half moon" pose that burns the legs so bad. But the rest is coming easier.
Today, really struggled getting through Legs & Back with ARX. Just didn't have the extra stuff I need to move from one routine to the next, so a lot of pausing. Have some physical stuff going on too that's giving me some discomfort - not related to working out. It's been nagging at me all week. And really didn't want to go on to ARX - but, darned if I didn't push on through!
Kenpo X tomorrow morning while it's cool, then ready for rest day.
Feels like I'm hitting the groove of the regular routine, at least, so I'm not running into the problem of starting and stopping the program some seem to have.
Starting Phase II, and the first "new" routine, right off the bat, made me feel like I was just starting, and a TOTAL weakling. The pushups kicked my A*^!! But, I did my best, and so much for the rest. Leaves a LOT of room for improvement, for sure. Finished that and ARX.
Rest week ended weak too. I did a couple hours of surfing Saturday, ao I rationalized that was enough exercise for that day and blew off my first routine since starting - Yoga X. I'll try not to make a habit of it.
