Several months ago, coach Richard, mentioned the term “addictive change”. I pondered the phrase and thought about how many things people are addicted to. We often think of addiction in terms of substance abuse, but there are many other things that take our time, rob us of our health, and kill the life and passion within us. I decided that I prefer to be addicted to fitness, exercise, and good nutrition which still takes time but restores health and fills me with renewed passion for life.
After moving from Seymour, to Hot Springs I convinced Maile, my daughter, to join me in daily workouts. She has always claimed to be exercise intolerant and was hesitant to begin, but now she is replacing pervious addictive behavior with physical fitness.
She has completed one of our recommended programs, Power Half Hour and is now tackling Power 90 masters. Besides the change in her weight and inches she has experiences other benefits; she sleeps better at night, no longer feels tired and lethargic, and has not had a severe headache in three months. In her own words she will attribute her feeling of wellbeing to what for her is “extreme fitness”.
