KEEP PUSHING!!!

I thought that I had better blogg something because it has been awhile.  My husband and I have been home from Jamaica now for 3 weeks.  It was wonderfull.  The weather was absolutely beautiful.  The food was awesome.  That being said it is very hard to watch what you eat when on vaction.  So I told myself this is vacation time, time to unwind and relax a bit.  So I did.  I did go to the gym every other day.  The weather was so hot it was hard to do a good workout so I did the best I could.  I did alot of running on the treadmill and alot of plyometrics.  There was not much for weights there.  So beacuse of the yummy drinks and the good food it went right to the stomach.  So 3 weeks after being home I am pushing harder than ever.  I am doing Chalene Extreme as I said that I would.  But instead of Turbo Fire I had the urge to do INSANITY for some extra cardio.  Because of vacation, I have really cleaned up my eating habits.  I ate 75% clean before and I loved soda (diet) and I have given that up too.  It has been 15 days now without it.  Thought that it would be tough but you know I don't miss it.  And it is not good for you anyway.  So now I am eating about 85-90% clean.  That is probably as close as I am going to get as my husband does alot of the cooking and does not want to eat the way I do.  Thank goodness for work because then I can eat 100% clean.  Tonight I am making roast chicken for supper with white potatoes for the husband and the girls myself it will be brown rice and brocolli.  No gravy, no butter.  I also love milk so that is my drink besides the loads of water (about 2litres) a day.  The only thing that frustrates me and I will always have this issue is that I cannot workout as much as I want due to work commitments.  For example.  Today I did INSANITY only becuase yesterdy I did Chalene Extreme burn circuit 1.  So I gave the weights a rest.  Now tomorrow I work 12 day at the hospital, and Monday and Tuesday 12 hour days at the nursing home.  So when you have to get up at 0530 to go to work and don't get home until almost 1930 at night your tired.  Your on your feet all day and by the end all you want to do is sit and put your feet up.  Anybody out there relate?  Especially if your a nurse you understand I'm sure.  So I am not able to workout again until Wednesday.  Anyway that is enough ranting for one session.  So like I said I am pushing harder than ever and hopefully results will happen.  Just keep pushing play right?  I'll put a new profile picture up soon from Jamaica.  Gotta find one that I like then try to remember how to do it again.  Keep pushing play everyone and if you feel like you don't want to workout today put your workout clothes on anyway and push play.  You'll be amazed that this IS what you needed and your body will thank you for it.

TURBO FIRE/CHALENE EXTREME

I have 7 classes of Turbo Fire left to do and then it will be time for the hybrid of Turbo Fire and chalene Extreme.  My how time flies.  This is exciting.  What is even more exciting right now for me is that I have finally booked my destination down south.  My husband and I are headed for Montego Bay on the Easter Weekend.  We fly out early Easter Sunday and won't be home until the following Sunday.  So I looked on line at my resort and it has a HUMUNGOUS gym.  So I will be packing my sneakers, my little skimpies and working a good sweat on.  I will keep track of what I do so I can log it into wowy when I get home.  so when I get back I will start the hybrid.  I am already planning ahead of this even.  After the hybrid, which will be in the summer sometime, I am going to then do INSANITY.  I only ever did one round of this and then only used it sparadically with other programs so I am taking the challenge again.  Should be fun.  But I really need to say this.  I absolutely loved the turbo workouts.  I am amazed at what it has done for me.  I definately recommend it to anybody.

PUSH IT REAL GOOD!!

This past week I have been pushing myself to the brink.  This month I am going to be working alot and will not be able to get in the gym as much as I'll want too.  I am going away to the Dominican the 2nd week of April and bought a new bikini and want to rock it.  Anyway so I have been exercising hard and pushing myself.  As I have said before, there is a local gym near by.  I have been going there to get my tans so I don't look like raw chicken on the beach.  Anyway the owner has Tabata classes, Bootcamp and what she calls Absolution which is a total ab workout that lasts 40 minutes.  Now I refuse to purchase a gym membership.  I don't need too because I have a gym in my house and with my beachbody video library I have everything I need.  That being said it is good to mix things up from time to time.  So while I have been tanning there at the local gym I have taken advantage of some of these classes that the instructor has put on.  Her Tabata routines are great.  The day before yesterday I went to her Absolution class and Boot camp classes.  Now I had already worked out that morning for an hour and a half so needless to say my legs were already put to the test.  So I do this absolution class and the first part of it is on an exercise ball.  Well I learn to get my balance so here I am keep falling off the darn thing.  Eventually I got the hang of her.  Then it was all floor exercises for your abs using your legs.  OMG! talk about tough and challenging.  The workout I did would certainly put the Ab Ripper X to the test.  Anyway then after was the boot camp which was pure cardio conditioning with some weights etc.  I definately had the build up of lactic acid in my legs.  Yesterday I worked out to Turbo Fire which is the primary program I am doing right now.  It felt good to move around because I was SOOOOOOOO sore.  But the sucker for punishment I am I thought well I felt pretty good I'm going to Tabata class tonight.  So I went and it was great, refreshing and just what I needed.  Now this morning comes and my abdominal muscles are crying for mercy.  I did Turbo Fire this morning the Fire 55 eazy workout and it was tough because my midsection was sore.  But after I was done I felt great.  I don't feel as sore as I did earlier this morning.  So now back to work tomorrow.  I am taking the rest of this day not doing a whole lot.  Well except for studying my IV course I am taking and later make a turkey dinner.  So the moral of this story is TRY SOMETHING NEW.  Keep pushing play everyone!!

A WARM FUZZY

This has nothing to do with fitness but I wanted to share it with everyone.  I was out at the Sobeys supermarket this morning and was waiting in line behind an elderly lady.  She left and I then paid for my products.  This elderly lady was waiting outside the door of the supermarket.  She stopped me and asked if I had any children.  I told her yes.  She then asked if we ate ham.  I told her from time to time.  She then pulled out this chunk of ham from her grocery bag.  She then proceeded to tell me that she had a buy one get on free and wanted me to have it.  I told her that I  could not accept but   this sweet  lady was not taking no for an answer.  I wanted to pay her and she would not do that either.  She told me from time to time she picks somebody out and does this for them.  I was more than touched.  I did not get her name.  She drove a red van.  I just wanted to share this with everyone.  There is a special place for people like her.  Hope this little story warms your heart.

TABATA

So I have been tanning which is totally bad for you but my husband and I are going south somewhere the 2nd week of April.  We will make our final decision in March.  Anyway where I go to tan there is a gym.  Now I don't buy gym memberships.  I have a gym in my house and with my beachbody products it would not be practical to have a membership.  Anyway the owner of the gym knows I love to exercise and she invited to do a Tabata workout with her and her class.  So I went this morning.  It was fun.  It was everything that I am already used to.  I was impressed.  Some of the exercises came from INSANITY so I was like ha I can do this easy.  Well Tabata is challenging however INSANITY is alot tougher.  But my heart rate increased and by the end you know that you had a great workout.  I think I will go back and do it again next Saturday.  She has Tabata through the week but like I said I am not going to spend money on gym memberships so to spice things up I'll go there once in awhile.  I felt a little intimidated at first.  I am so used to now working out by myself and felt a little self conscious about myself because I work up a sweat fast and before you know it the clothes are coming off so I'm left with skimpy shorts and a tank top. So I did feel a bit uneasy.  However I over came it especially when I got warm and then I really didn't care.  I'm sure some of you feel the same way.  Especially us women who have a stretch mark or two such as I and some loose sking from loosing weight.  Oh well.  Hey I got a compliment about my legs and that was cool.  So I got to work this afternoon at the hospital.  My arms are feeling like jello and my legs are shaky.  Hopefully and I'm sure I will, I will recover enough so that I can stay on my 2 feet.  I don't have to work until 3pm so I should be good.  Keep pushing play everyone.
