ramping it up!

Well it is day 3 of ramp it up of the slim in 6 series.  I wasn't sure if one week of Start it up would be enough before moving onto this phase, but I decided to be ambitious.  The first day of ramp it up I realized that I could have spent a little more time with start it up.  I found that I couldn't keep up, but did as much as I could.  I was drenched with sweat and just kept on plugging.  I decided to see how my body felt after the first two days of ramp it up.  I was a little bit sorer than when doing start it up, but nothing where I felt like I was injuring myself.  I decided to stay with ramp it up and just keep trying to improve each day. My goal for the week is to keep up with ramp it up for the 6 days in a row.  My daily goal is to improve the number of reps in her on the floor bun exercises in ramp it up.

Well today I finally noticed some improvement.  I could keep up with parts of it.  I think the abs are the most challenging for me.  I do have low back issues, so need to be careful with doing the upper and lower ab moves simultaneously.  So for now I do what I can without causing pain to my back. I also got xrays and went to a chiropractor. He has a holistic style including massage, exercise, stretches, chiropractics, acid/base balance, and nutrition.  He says it is most important to regulate your sugar levels. I had purchased Robert Furgerson's food lovers plan which helps you to eat a low glycemic index diet.  I would like my next weeks goal to be formulating and using the 1400 cal diet plan online. I am feeling like I am putting in so much effort with exercising that I don't want what I put in my mouth to ruin it for me.  I was preparing for Thanksgiving thinking, I am not going to pig out on that holiday.  I need to set that goal of keeping it moderate. I will just try and keep the images of me pushing so hard through the workouts in the front of my mind when I see all the food and desserts.

starting again!

Well so far it seems like I keep starting and never following through to completion.  My coach could say, "Well at least you haven't given up".  So I am trying to have a different attitude and not let anything that comes up stop me from working out.  I have found that to be really challenging.  I had decided to start with the slim in 6 program.  I was a little weary about working out 6 days in a row.  I thought that I would be so sore that I would not be able to do my regular nursing or massage therapy jobs well.  I had gone to a coach meeting at my coach's home and was inspired by my upline.  They explained to me that it is better to work out a little each day for 5 or 6 days then the past philosophy of at least 20 minutes three times a week.  I said that I would give it a try.

I realized that I had to start setting goals for myself in order to be successful. My first weekly goal was to make sure I worked out 6 days in a row no matter what.  My daily goal was to improve the number of girl push ups I could do each time.  I completed my weekly goal of doing 6 days in a row of "Start it up".  I was able to increase the number of push ups each day.  I could only do 5 in the beginning and by the end of the week completed 11 in a row.  Towards the end of the week, I was also able to keep my arms up throughout the entire workout.  I tried to improve my ab workout as well.  In the beginning, I was unable to do the reverse crunches and by the end of the week, I had those down.  So all in all I made progress without being so sore that I couldn't function. Now I am going to see if I can ramp it up for week 2 and start to take my supplements.  However, I still drink shakeology once every day and love it!!
