Ok, so this morning I got up to go to the Y just like I have been doing for the past two weeks. I just walk on the treadmill and leave my Insanity workout for later.
But anyways, today my husband didn't come with me. It was just me and my iPhone and the TV on the treadmill.
Now after you are done reading this, please tell me that you "HAVE" had a similar experience while at the gym, because this was too much for me.
So I first walk in and I have my earphones on listening to a radio app that I have on the phone. BLASTING! But it was only blasting in my ears, so it didn't matter.
Then I get on one of those treadmills that have a TV. So I start flipping through the channels and then stop at this particular channel. The Food Network. AAAAaarrrgghhh.
I wish I could disappear.... I did it with out realizing what I was doing... I unplug the earphones from my phone and plug it into the TV to listen... by this time they are showing how to make some stake shish kabob with tomatoes and cheese... that thing looked sooooo good... I literally was thinking about wanting to go to the grocery store and make it. Next thing I know this lady passes by and looked at me all weird. Then I look around and other people are staring at me too.
So then I turn back to the TV and that is when I realized what I was watching wasn't necessarily the type of stuff you want to be watching at the gym. I wanted to just get off the thing and leave. But I said I was going to complete 2 miles today so I didn't.
I found a movie and just kept watching that until I was done.
After I was done, I turn off the TV and disconnect my earphones from it and that is when I realized why the lady and other people were looking at me so funny. My iPhone was playing the radio station loud the entire time.
If you don't have an iPhone, usually when you unplug your earphones from it, the phone will automatically stop playing the music. You have to actually press play again if you want to hear it through the speakers. But this particular app doesn't do that. When I unplugged it from my phone and plugged it in the TV, I didn't notice that it kept playing.
OHHhhhhh mann... I just started working out at the gym these past two weeks... and I really was starting to feel comfortable coming in... but I still didn't want all that attention drawn to me... at least not until I loose another 50 pounds if you know what I mean.
Anyways... I'm glad to say that it wasn't a life threatening experience and that I will go back tomorrow... I will probably have a bag over my head... but I will be there again... LOL
