Day 3 -- Ultimate Reset

Was tired and grouchy today. Had no patience in the morning and really craving my coffee. Also disappointed to not see the scale move this morning. Two complete days of following all the meals and nothing. :( Gues I may not have a lot of easy water weight to lose. But the turning point today was having lunch with my accountability partner. We commiserated with each other and made each other laugh and feel better. Rest of the day went well and I really enjoyed the Nori rolls (homemade sushi). May not look quite as pretty as in a restaurant, but it wasn't that hard to make. The miso soup was also ok, given that I don't normally like miso soup at sushi restaurant. I will make these again and maybe use different ingredients in the rolls. Didn't have time to make & marinate the Japanese Cucumber salad, so I just steamed some cauliflower in its place, but I do want to go back and try it. Really, the food is good, although it does take time to prepare--just like any home cooked meal. I highly recommend prepping the night before so you can pack your lunch for work and dinner comes together quickly in the evening. Especially handy is cooking extra brown rice and quinoa since they're used in a couple meals.

Day 2 -- Ultimate Reset

Woke up feeling so rested, since I rarely get almost 8 hrs of sleep. Something else I need to improve upon. It made it a little easier to deal with no coffee, plus I got to eat a yummy breakfast of oatmeal, blueberries and yogurt. I am seriously not feeling deprived at all with the food on the Reset so far. Ample portions are keeping me satisfied. I think a lot of my eating comes from other reasons: boredom, tiredness, anxiety, habit. Hopefully by the end of this Reset I will have broken the bad habit of using food in these situations, and replaced them with other healthy options.

Another great lunch of Greek Chicken Salad with an amazing homemade dressing. Definitely a keeper. Drank a lot of water at work (I start with a gallon jug each morning) and was almost panicky at the end of the day since I only had 12 oz left, but wouldn't be home for another 3 hrs to get more of my distilled water. Saved enough to take my Optimize supplement on the way home so I could cook and eat dinner soon after.

Loved my black beans and rice with salsa and guacamole for dinner! Definitely something I will make again. My accountability partner however did not like his. I think he's crazy! (He was pouting because he had to have corn tortillas instead of flour.)

The only temptations I had today were the May baskets of popcorn and candy being handed out at school today. I had to put mine out of sight in my desk and re-gift it at the end of the day since I couldn't eat it and I didn't want to throw it away.

Spent a lot of time in the kitchen tonight prepping for meals tomorrow, so didn't get to bed as early as I should have. I try to have lunch packed and major components prepped for dinner so it doesn't take so long to get it on the table. After work is a hard time for me not to grab a snack, so I don't want to spend an hour making dinner when I'm starving. Planning ahead is a very good thing!

Day 1-- Ultimate Reset

I did not taper my coffee consumption going into the Ultimate Reset as recommended, so I was a bit worried about having killer headaches. No coffee = yawning all morning, but at least no headache. When I caught myself yawning I just reminded myself it's a sign I need more oxygen and then I took several deep breaths.

Since I'm not drinking coffee, I just kept slugging back my distilled water with Mineralize, and was surprised how easy it was to go through an entire jug during the day and another large glass in the evening. Hmmm...wonder how much coffee I was drinking throughout the day??? Of course when I'm not snacking and can't have anything else, I turn to the water, which is a good thing.

Meals today seemed really normal to me and things I eat on a regular basis: eggs & toast, salad with veggies, baked salmon & asparagus. These recipes for the dressings and marinade are wonderful and pretty easy to whip up in my magic bullet blender. I know I will continue to make them even after the Reset.

Energy-wise I was dragging all day. First of all, I did not get nearly enough sleep the night before, and secondly, I miss my caffeine! I was watching a movie this evening and fell asleep on the couch around 9pm. Woke up at 11pm and went to bed, so I ended up getting almost 8 hrs of sleep before my alarm went off at 5am.

21 Day Beachbody Ultimate Reset

I'll admit I am a bit nervous to start the 21 day Ultimate Reset. Worried about the amount of prep/cook time is will take. Worried it will be hard to stick to the meal plan. Worried I won't be able to resist snacking & cheating when tempting treats are around. Wondering how in the world I'm going to give up my COFFEE!!!

BUT....I am commited to the 21 days because of all the glowing testimonials I've heard from all the people who've already been through it in test groups.

WHY do the Ultimate Reset?

1. I want to have more energy

2. I want to feel healthier and lighter

3. I want to break a plateau and lose weight

4. I want to look good for my 25th High School Reunion

5. I want to regain control of my eating

6. I want to commit to something healthy and good for me and COMPLETE IT!

Here we go.........

Working out but not seeing results?

About 90% of gym goers will look the same year in year out. And the simple reason for that
is because they are failing to follow a strict program—workouts AND NUTRITION.

It's not a case of living and dying by that program.  No! It's about treating what we do in fitness as a lifestyle and sticking to it for years, rather than months.
