Finished Insanity...final thoughts

Number one, I wish I could have followed the diet better.  I always say that.  I kept tract of everything I ate, I mean everything.  And I was generous with the calorie counts when I wasn't sure what the exact number was.  I ate an average of 2450 calories per day.  According to the caloric needs calculator, I should eat 2591 calories per day to lose weight.  I lost about 2-3 pounds, lost 1 good inch on my waist, and went from ~15.7% to 11.7% body fat.  So I lost fat and gained muscle.  Although my pics don't show it that well, I can FEEL it!  I feel a lot stronger and more powerful.  I can't wait to dive back into P90X again.  I gotta get this diet thing down, it takes a lot of practice to obtain complete control over your diet and nutrition.  I think I eat way too many P90X protein bars, they're sooo good!!  But seriously, I eat too much, too late, and don't ever get enough sleep.  Heck, I'm typing this at 1:40am and have to be up at 7am for work.  Oh, and I ate a huge dinner (dinner omelette), then some non-fat yogurt + grape nuts and a protein bar...when am I gonna learn?  I still need to take my measurements for my profile.  I'll do it tomorrow.  Gotta get to bed yal!  Good night!!

Eating right and sleeping right are more than half the battle!!

If you want to get into great shape, you must, first and foremost, eat right.  Or eat "clean" as they say.  This is not easy.  Eating "dirty" is easy.  Eating "dirty" is convenient and all around us, everywhere we go.  We must take an initiative to eat "clean."  What is eating "clean" you ask?  Well to put it simply:  Eat multiple (5) small meals (300-500 calories) throughout the day.  Eat complex carbohydrates (whole wheat products.)  Avoid saturated fats.  Eat more fruits and vegetables.  I could go on and on.  Beachbody is loaded with healthy eating tips.  You will not see the results you want if you do not eat "clean."

Don't eat 2 hours before bedtime.  You don't want your body digesting food while you sleep, you want it to repair and build your body while you sleep.  Get at least 8 hours of sleep every day.  This includes power naps.  Your body needs to repair and build itself.  Again, you will not see the results you want if you do not sleep right.

Starting Insanity in 2 days!!

I made my grocery list and I'm gong shopping tomorrow!  I'm starting Insanity Monday Jan. 11th.  It's going to be a tough 60 days, but I'm going to do it!  I'm going to take before pics, a video interview, and a P90X fit test tomorrow too.

AFter the 60 days is up, I'm going to do my own P90X/Insanity hybrid program.

I'm on vacation with a cold. :'(

I finished session 3 of P90X on Nov. 26th.   Then I went on vacation to visit my family.  I planned on running or swimming everyday while home.  Well, I caught a cold, and now I'm stuck at my parent's house eating my mom's food (not complaining.)  My dad also loves to have ice cream every night before bed (again, not complaining, I'm on vacation.)  I just became a Beachbody coach and ordered INSANITY.  I will be starting that in January.  I'll keep running/swimming between now and then (as soon as my cold is gone.)  Pray for me, as I will for you, and keep pressing play!
