Holiday Weight Gain or Holiday Excuse?

Yeah, yeah- we all know and some may fall into the trap of the Holiday rush, eat more- workout less- but running around and trying to wrap up all of the chaos within the last bit of the year- all with the intention of the New Year to start fresh!

Yeah, me too!

So coming back to the realization it is a new year I am plummeting back into the swing of things with an energetic high.

But I have to admit I am over my ideal or desired weight- and I have noticed my pants are fitting in the- just passed snug zone. It is frustrating to see this. Why this change? A mixture of life I suppose. I had fallen off the workout wagon December 09- Was right into my Phase 2 of Insanity- going wonderfully strong looking awesome, but then my body said no- My little boy- who has now started Kindergarten- graciously decided to contribute to the family of the flu, pink eye, and an amazing cough! Poor little bugger...

So alas, I got the flu, got the pink eye ,and took on the cough.

But I am just getting better- still have pain from the cough but started my Insanity Day one to Finish!

I am modifying the workout because I am still having pain issues- being in a plank position- I somehow tweaked my ribcage from excessive coughing and it really hurts doing pushups right now- I can get by with modifying on my knees. It really feels like a set back because I know how powerful I was becoming in the workout, but at the same time- again- I am reminded of how sometimes physical ailments can greatly impact what it is that you are trying to do.

What it is that you know in your heart and mind what you want to accomplish- but physically it is not allowing you to. I am at a very slight scale of really personally understanding  this concept- Especially being around family that has disabilities that really do obstruct physical activity. So I am greatful for my body, for my endurance, and for my will to continue on and see how strong I can be!

New Year 2010!

Ok, so it is January 13th and I am now barely making my New Year's resolution.

I was orginally thinking that I am not going to make one. I am still sticking to that because I am going to make a whole list of ones.

1. Make more family time

2. Finish my Insanity program: Start Date 1/04/10

    Rev Abs next

3. Dance- continue this journey and become stronger in the dance- attempt a performance sometime in the near future! Oh yeah, I gotta go out to the clubs a little bit more this year!

4. Blog at least once a week and get back to social networking- goal once a week

5. More photography
