Technology is great, even when it shows you the clearest picture of who you are on the outside. I bought Lee and Ash a XBox 360 w/Kinect for X-mas. I have to say that this is by far one of the coolest and most advanced pieces of equipment we own. For a system to be able to operate with only your body movements, is amazing to me. I explained this to my 97 year old G'ma who is just as amazed. Sorry, tangent. Last night, Ash and I played Dance Central which has a recorded freestyle section which then plays back with a speed like fast forward. I almost died when I saw a full body picture of myself. How in the world did I let this happen? Rather than focus on where I went wrong, I'm going to think of the positive that it wasn't worse and I can make it better. I am CHOOSING and DECIDING to COMMIT!
So, I woke up this morning and decided not to torture myself so much that I wouldn't be able to work out for days, and started with Turbo Jam 20-Minute. It was tiring, for sure, but I kept pushing through.
As my mom worked through some of her darkest days of pain, she settled on a mantra from a mutual favorite musical called Rent - there's No Day But Today. One step at a time, one day at a time, one accomplishment at a time.
