Week 2!

I have not blogged in ages! But, 2012 is a new year! :)

I am now on Week 2 of Les Mills Pump, and I LOVE IT! What a fun workout. I love lifting weights. I did Les Mills Body Pump when I lived in Australia, and was so excited to see it available for home use.

I already see a difference in how I hold myself (core tightened). I also notice the difference in my quads and glutes. All those squats and lunges are working! :) Can't wait to take photos on Day 30.

My head is screaming today, but I'm going to work out anyway. Mind over matter.

Tweaked Back!

Argh! I haven't worked out at all this week due to a tweaked back. Not fun. I am babying it, so that I can hit it again on Monday. Oh, I hate these kinds of distractions and set-backs. Oh well, all in good time, all in good time.

Dig.Deeper. is right!

Insanity: Plyometric Cardio Circuit

Today, my hubby is out of town, so I got up and pushed play by myself. I have to say, it's not as much fun to workout without him around. He is definitely my cheerleader! However, I pushed it as hard as I could after not eating much for the last two days. Got dizzy a few times, so I just stopped, walked around, and got my heartrate back down to a more manageable level. 675 calories are GONE! Nice! Now, to start my day. Happy Friday, everyone!

Listen to Your Body!

Ever had one of those days when everything seems to be going well, then all of a sudden, WHAM! out of left field, you get hit by a curveball? Well, that happened to me yesterday. I ate something wacky. Not unhealthy, not junk, just wacky--for me. I had a fantastic lunch of grilled chicken and brown rice, and just to add something new into the mix, I ate about 8 dried apricots. BAD DECISION. I have eaten dried apricots in the past with nothing out of the ordinary happening. Not yesterday. Cramp city like you wouldn't believe! To make the story short and not so graphic, after suffering through awful intestinal cramps and vomiting, I finally fell asleep at 4am.

Now, Mike and I are doing a round of Insanity. Aside: they picked the PERFECT name for those workouts. I was all pumped up to do the workout for the day. I had taken 6 fantastic Tae Kwon Do classes over the weekend and worked out with some great folks in my area on Sunday. Monday saw us doing some Ten Minute Trainer dvds and Tuesday I took as my day off. So, I was ready to hit it today.

Nothing doing. Today, I had to listen to my body and REST. Today, I had to listen and just drink water. Just eat a little bread. Just take it easy and REST. I love it when my body tells me things like that. And I love it when I listen. Because when I'm completely over whatever it is that's bugging me, I'll be stronger and refreshed and I can't wait to get back to it. Time for bed. Goodnight.
