Recovering from injury

So I hurt myself in January (during a Turbo Kick training class).  Plantar fasciitis was what it was.  Unfortunately I did not go to the doctor right away and it just started to get better and I'd re-injur myself.  It got so bad in February that I was crying and could barely limp, let alone walk.  I went into the doctor, he told me what it was, how to take care of it and then how to tape my foot when it really hurt.

So, it had gotten better and I became increasingly scared of injuring myself again.  So, I did not do any workouts for about a 1.5 months.  About 3 weeks ago, I decided that I wanted to go ahead (losing weight and becoming healthier is MUCH easier with workouts than just eating right).  Things are going well and no pain!  :)  YAY!  I am careful during the workouts and have been doing the lower impact versions of movements and each workout I am adding a bit of the higher impact moves back in and still no pain!  :)  I did every other day for the 1st 3 weeks and now I am going to go to 2 days on, 1 day off.  Then I will increase to 3 on, 1 off until I can go to 5 or 6 days per week again.

Early AM workout

OK...so it didn't happen this morning.  I can say that my "excuse" is a valid one...my 3 year old daughter was up until after midnight.  I ended up staying up until about 1 AM and was very tired this morning.  I was aware that my alarm went off at 6 (and again at 6:30) but felt very tired.  While I probably could have gotten up, I made the choice (good or bad -- I made it and cannot change it) to sleep until 7.  Tomorrow is another day.

Ever since I went to Camp Turbo last year, I have been wanting a bodybugg and if I didn't say it last time, I finally got one last week.  It told me I hit my burn today...before I have even had a chance to work out tonight.  I guess I am more active than I had thought.  However, using bodybugg's online site to track burned and comsumed calories...I can tell it's not what I was eating...it is the amounts.  Something to work on along with getting up in the AM!  :)

There is no try, only do

Yoda is a smart alien.  How many times do I have to say I will only to allow myself to stop?  Every time I stop and revert back to my old ways and body, I am thoroghly unhappy.  I do so want to do something about this.  So...as a start, I am going to TurboKick every week (I can only go once a week due to the family schedule) and from there I will add more.

My real goal here to get started again is to start getting up early in the morning to workout.  That is going to be harder than working out because I stay up too late and love sleeping late.  Some reasons I stay up late are completely selfish...I like staying up late when the kids are asleep and I can have my "me" time.  My huband and I like to play Wii a lot.  :)  The other reason I stay up late is that my 3 year old is giving us problems with her (non-)sleeping schedule.  She is trying to outgrow her nap already and then stays up really late.  This started from the moment we did the crib to bed transition.

Anyways...another tool I addded this week was getting a Bodybugg.  I have wanted one ever since I went to Camp Turbo last summer (and I was one of the minority that did not have one of these handy toys, er...tools).  I got one Thursday and am using the online tool that goes with the Bodybugg.  I was going to go to camp again this year but by the time I could work out some finances...it was sold out.  I am at the top of the wait list but I am probably not going to be able to go.  Which is ok, but going was what helped last time with keeping up motivation.
