P90X Round Two, week two done!!

Hello all, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  I ended up taking Sunday as a rest day!!  It was nice to just chill and watch movies.

Monday night, I did Legs, Back and Ab Ripper X.  This workout is one of my favorite workouts because I know I’m working three areas that need the most work.  Legs and back was a good workout.  Boy, did I feel the pain in the legs, especially when doing the Iso Toe Lunges.  But, I still love all the lunges and can feel it working.  Now moving on to Pull-ups, these are still a challenge even with the pull-up assist.  On a positive note I can do eight to ten and do feel that my form is better.  I also did much better with abs this time around.  I did twenty to twenty five reps on most exercises. So I did at least Two Hundred sit ups.

Yesterday was Kenpo X.  This is by far the quickest and easiest workout for me!!! I love it!!

Today is Wednesday and I went right into Chest, Back and Ab Ripper X.  This is the first workout in week three.  Hello!!!!! Still!!! Not my Favorite!!!!! It is mostly pull-ups and push-ups which are my least favorite. But, I’m getting better and still doing it…

I’ve been working hard on eating clean meals and snacks.  When we’re watching movies in the evenings we make a tray with vegetables and ranch as opposed to chips!!!!

Enjoy the rest of the week.  The weekend is almost here J

My P90X Journey week two

Well today is Saturday!! Thank God for the weekends!!  The first week back to work after the Christmas Holiday was tough but it was great to see the kids and hear all their stories.

As far as my New Years Resolution and working out goes I feel I’ve done a good job sticking with it.

I am in my second week of P90X.  Thursday, was Plyometrics which is basically a cardio jump training workout.  This is one of the hardest workouts in the program and there’s a great feeling of accomplishment when you’re done.

Friday, I did Shoulders Arms and Ab Ripper.  Shoulders and Arms is one of my favorite workouts.  I’ve been trying to push hard and also raised my weights.  Ab Ripper has been tough for me this time around.  I have not been able to do twenty five of each.  I’ve only gotten to fifteen or twenty but I keep pushing through.

Saturday which is today I did Yoga X.  I really do like this workout even though it is long.  I tried hard to clear my mind and focus on the moves.  I am able to do them all except the “crane” and this is probably because I haven’t tried to do it every time.  I usually just fast forward through that exercise because I don’t want to land on my head.

Until tomorrow I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Chest, Back & Abs Done

Kenpo X is done.  It was hard to do this workout last night.  Even though it is one of the easiest workouts, getting off the couch and pushing play was still hard.

After work yesterday I went to eat at Chili’s with my son.  Then the Biggest Loser was on TV.  It would have been so easy to just sit and watch that but with some encouragement from my coach, some FB friends and my son, I set the dvr to record Biggest Loser and I pushed play on P90X!!! I am soooo glad I did.  It felt so good once I got started and even better when I finished.

I also need to mention that after eating dinner with my son I told him tonight was my Kenpo X night.  He said “You go mom” If it wasn’t for him I would have never bought P90X a couple years ago and started doing it.  I’m thankful for a son who is health conscious and into working out.  Also thanks to my coach Casey for being a great influence and always keeping me on track J

As for today I just finished Chest Back and Ab Ripper week two!!!!

P90X Slow Start

Hello Friends and Happy New Year,

Well the Healthy New Year is starting slow for me but at least it’s starting!

I did my Yoga X on Friday and it was easier than I thought it would be. The Extended Right-Angle Pose & Grab was hard, along with the Half-Moon / Twisting Half-Moon. But they were easier than when I first started last year.

I didn't workout Saturday because it was New Years Eve. I tried not to eat too much junk but must admit I definitely didn’t eat clean. Our friends made quesadillas and I made black eye peas with bacon and pork L I know that’s not very healthy.  We had fun though!!!

Sunday I did pull through and did Legs, Back and Ab Ripper.  It actually felt real good to be doing legs again.  I did back using my pull – up assist which made it easier to do ten or eleven of each exercise.

So…today is Monday and I should have done my workout this morning... But NOT!!!..Instead I went to brunch and had eggs, wheat toast and two sausage links.  Then for dinner we went out to eat again. I had a shrimp salad with guacamole/ ranch dressing (which probably had a lot of calories).  Then we went to the movies and had popcorn...I know yuk…….

Tomorrow I go back to work and hopefully back on a better workout schedule!! I will be doing my Kenpo X tomorrow night and probably skip my rest day and go straight into week two Chest, Shoulders and Abs on Wednesday.

So until tomorrow…..

P90X Take Two, four days in!

Well here it is December 30th and I’m four days in!!! Yeah me!! Tuesday I did Chest, Back & Abs, Wednesday was  Plyometrics, Thursday I did Shoulders, Arms & Abs and Today was Yoga X !!  Just two more workouts and I’ll be done with my first week.  I only have twelve more weeks to go LOL.

Actually getting back into it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.  I think working my abs has been the hardest. But that’s where I need the most work.  Those bicycles and Fifer scissors get me every time.  Yoga was also a little tough today but it felt great.

Being off work this week has made it easier to get my workouts done.  Hopefully I can continue on next week.  This blog is helping me stay accountable.

I have also tried to eat clean since starting my new journey with meals including salads, beans, and of course my shakeology.

I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe and Happy New Year
