I am not sure why anyone would want to do plastic surgery. I really isn't that much fun. I had a procedure yesterday to remove some sun damage, a basal cell carcinoma, or skin cancer, from my nose. Most of the other people in the waiting room had nose jobs also. Too much sun without protection and anyone can get this. I am also a redhead nad have very pale skin. Two strikes against me. I also was sunburned more than once in childhood. I don't even remember having sunscreen then.
The good part is that there is a newish surgery technique called Mohs surgery. They take the smallest amount of tumor they can but they make sure they get the whole thing. They freeze dry the tissue, slice it into many thin slices and examine it to see if they missed anything. If they missed some of the tumor, they know exactely where to go and take the rest. Luckily for me it was only one cut.
The last part is restoring the skin on the face. This is basically plastic surgery. I like to think of it as my mini facelift! This is where I wonder about people who choose to do it. It isn't really much fun. Maybe when I am able to take my bandages off I will see why. I have tons of tiny stitches from my eye to the bottom of my nose. A large incision to make my face look good again. Scary I think. And, not pain free.
The worst part is that I cannot exercise for a week. Nothing that gets my blood pumping to my face. That is really hard because I know that after a week of no exercise it canbe harder that ever to get going again. But get going I will. Back to Chalean extreme and some turbo kick. I can't wait. Until then, I will be a coach princess. Because it is important to do what your doctor says.
