I have not blogged about my workouts or my progress since I began my fitness journey on Decemebr 1st, 2010. I will say that the first week of my workouts with Chalean Extreme seemed fairly difficult and I was sore for the first 2 weeks after the workouts. I had tried P90X originally and it was too difficult for me as I was so out of shape. I was not extremely overweight, but I never did any exercise and I sit in front of a PC almost all day. My only exercise is to go to the grocery store or the bank.
I invested in 5 lb, 8 lb and 10 lb free weights initially. Now I can use up to 20 lb. weights depending on the exercise. You really need to go as heavy as you are able to as Chalean says. Women worry about bulking up, but that is not the case since we don't have testerone like a man. I was worried that I was getting larger muscles at first, but I actually began to see the results in my photos that I was leaning out and I got toner. You really need to take before and after photos every 30 days. If you are looking in a mirror everyday as we all do, you won't see changes. The photos don't lie and you will see the results in them.
I never thought I would lose anymore weight when I began my workouts, but I did. At 5' 7" I was at 140 lbs. at the start and I am now at 123 lbs. I thought I would have stayed at 130 lbs, but I am surprised I continued to lose weight. I really don't want to lose more weight, but it keeps coming off slowly (a pound in 2 weeks) and I really just want to get more tone now. As your body draws near it's ideal weight you will lose weight more slowly. If you are heavily overweight, the weight comes off faster and in greater amounts as long as you maintain a clean diet--no junk food etc.
More updates coming soon. Feel free to contact me with any questions you have about diet or workouts.
