Brett Hoebel a.k.a "El Capitan," "The Dues Collector," Fitness Trainer on season 11 of NBC's the Biggest Loser.
Brett Hoebel became a household name in his role as the physical trainer for season 11's the Biggest Loser t.v. show. He taught folks how to cut out fat and build muscle in the most demanding part of the body, the lower back and abdominal midsection. Later, helped curb the appetites of master chefs for "Fat Chef," a Food Network food show documenting the relationship these obese chefs had with food. Again, Brett saves the day with is "tough love" style of getting to core of the weight loss matter.
You and I know Brett Hoebel as Beachbody at-home fitness trainer of RevAbs. RevAbs includes a 90-day calendar and an explanatory device called the RevAb Pyramid. Participants can "rev it up" using squats, lunges and hand weights to build muscle in a place that is "core" to all external bodily movement.
In my opinion, the midsection, or core of the body should be the first place folks should build muscle and later grow their extremities. And, RevAbs offers more than just a core workout. Since all bodily bits are connected, Brett Hoebel teaches balance and breathing techniques innate to the Capoeira style. The participant will learn about a balanced base (or center of gravity) to achieve the correct stance. And, don't forget that pivot. Moving through the transverse plane gracefully is a must with a pivot and the side punch. And all trainers must have personality!

Beachbody corporate is launching a whole new opportunity. It's the opportunity to become P90X certified! Beachbody corporate has always been on the cutting edge of the best ways to market, whether in social media or challenge groups and now in the gym. P90X certified coaches may use this opportunity to learn more about the science behind P90X, or they may begin to provide personal training and teach classes in the gym. Regardless of how the certification is used, more clients will have the opportunity to see the miracle of body transformation using the gift of the ageless and funny, Tony Horton.
Everyone knows that Tonys Hortons' gift is taking the "threat" out of "threaten." He makes hard fitness routines seem easy. And certification is no different. The first stage of certification is to be qualified. Qualification is a 12 lesson, online tutorial about the science of P90X. Certification is when master trainers provide live instruction at a gym atmosphere. After an attendee recieves certification, they may provide P90X based fitness instuction to those wanting a gym style P90X experience, like personal training or a class.
A group of 51 attendees launched the first certification weekend. We were introduced to our master trainers by Jon Congdon and Carl Diekeler. We were trained by 4 of the team of 7 master P90X trainers who are knowledgeable and experienced. These personal trainers taught us in the planes of the body, the large bones and muscles and the 7 major movements. Attendees also learned science behind P90X and how adaptation and supercompensation works. Sessions included small group work, as well as classroom style learning. All attendees were given a written and practical exam at the end of the session. Tony Horton did make a cameo appearance providing a workout and some photo ops! I know that certification will provide me the knowledge I need to recommend and teach P90X with confidence. After the certification weekend, I began to implement the knowledge I had gained in the qualification stages and the certification stage of the P90X certification immediately in my challenge group. An understanding the science behind the workouts helps me to better understand how P90X is the perfect full-body muscle toning program.
I am a "meat and potatoes" person. In other words, I want content. I want to know about the body, how it works and why Beachbody thinks its programs and products are so awesome! So, who has the answers to questions about the body? Beside Steve Edwards, it's Aaron Lowe!

I just listed for 43 minutes of Aaron talk about gender specific nutrition, including what pregnant women need, and the balance of the Omega 3 and Omega 6 fish oils. Aaron explains the Activit vitamin and the joint supplement, and the Cal Mag. Beachbody products are not made overseas! All domestic and our facilities are FDA licensed.
I will likely go back and listen again, just to cement the knowledge even better. After listening, I had an understanding of what these amazing products do, how I can improve my own results and help my customers too!

One of the best little features that has not been "Hollywood-ized" is the Steve Edwards training tips in the "training section" of the Video Library!
The one I send and use often is called "Weight Loss Basics." I love it, and listen to it over and over again. I just sent it to a body builder customer of mine. The theory about adding calories can be difficult to explain to a new body builder. So, let Steve discuss it!
Another great tool lie in the Nutritional tools on the customer dashboard. I just offered to find the BMI and Body Fat % for my customers. Two customers took me up on my offer and sent me thier data. You need age, waist measurement, height and weight to use the tools there. They are a great resource and a way to introduce the meal planning aspect of the meal planner.

This gem is snuggled in a group of CD's call Power 90! Power 90 was one of the first workouts that Tony/Beachbody created, and is viewed by many as the "starter" workout for folks who need to get off of the couch. At the purchase of P90, two cases arrive. The Boot Camp (phase 1/2, 3/4), and the Fat Burning DVD.
And the Fat Burning DVD is the GEM!
Filmed in Hawaii with the real people who were the success stories of 2005 , Tony takes the the participant through a full-body workout that includes power yoga, arm raises, lunges, and bits of cardio! Tony is so smooth and rapid with his transitions that the participants don't even know that they are working out. Folks are sweating by the end, but the pace of the 5 rounds is so fast, that no one finds it boring.
This DVD is a must for fit clubs, especially for folks who are not fit. Its the best indicator of whether to go to P90X or stay at P90! If folks are sweating, breathing hard, and/or you must stop the workout, then stay at the P90 3/4 level or even 1/2.
I have shown this workout 3 times just this week. And I will show it agiain on Tuesday! And as Tony would say, "WHO-HA!"
