I couldn't stand it, so I measured and weighed after two weeks of Les Mills Pump. I lost 2.5 pounds and 3 inches overall. I'm not too worried about the weight-loss, as I tend to add muscle quickly. Love the inches lost, though! That tells me that my body composition is indeed changing, because while muscle weighs more than fat, it takes up less space.
I love the workouts so far. The first month, you only get to do basically four workouts: Pump Challenge, Pump & Burn, Hard Core Abs, and Flow. I call Challenge a training workout, in that they are taking a lot of time to show form and timing. It's still a good 20-minute workout though! Pump & Burn is about 33 minutes, and includes a warmup and cooldown. Different trainers, good music. Hard core abs is a good ab workout, and intensity can easily be upped there. Flow is a very short yoga-esque DVD, and is great for working out the kinks. At first, I was worried that there wouldn't be enough weight to push/pull, but I was wrong! The most I've put on the bar is 20#, and so far, that's plenty. In fact, I have trouble finishing one particular track in Pump & Burn, but my goal is to get through them all by the end of this week - which is also the end of the first phase. I've also been supplementing with running two days a week, something I haven't done in a long time, but I'm glad to get back into it.
Looking forward to learning my 30- day results. The measuring tape will really tell the tale!
