Am I Whining?

Ok so I did not get up early this morning for my workout BUT I did meet half my goal and that was having my lunch and snacks packed the night before so all I had to do before work was make my Shakeology breakfast.  Am I whining about it because I didn't get up early?  Heck no, I will do my workout tonight and tomorrow is another day for me to meet my original goal.  Am I going to have escusitis because I have to do it after work?  Nope, I only have myself to blame and I will do better tomorrow.  As I'm doing my workout tonight I will remind myself that I could have done it this morning and have time for other things instead of catching up on my missed morning workout.  No worries - tomorrow is another day BUT I will not miss my workout this evening.

It's Been a While

It has been a while since I've written here so wanted to catch up.  I just cannot seem to settle in on one workout routine.  Sooooooo I'm going to just do it.  Insanity was the one program I did completely start to finish without missing any workouts so I'm going to do another round of it.  Once I finish that one I'll move to Asylum for 30 days and by then Les Mills Pump should be available by Beachbody.  I started with the fit test and just finished Plyo Cardio Circuit.  

This week my goal is to have my lunch and snacks for the next day packed the night before AND get up early to get my workout in. That way, when I get home from work I can get some things done without dreading my workout and not getting anything else done because I'm just too tired or taking the chance that something will interfere.  This will give me a chance to get some of my usual weekend chores done during the week so my weekend isn't taken up doing household chores.

Getting up earlier than usual is not my favorite thing to do but I need to compromise with myself.  I've been reading up on some of the people who are the most successful with their workouts who also work full time jobs and they say that doing it in the morning helps keep them accountable and helps then to make sure they get it done.  Sooooooooooo, it's on the schedule and it will take some willpower on my part but I'll let you know how it goes.

It's not the falling but the getting back up!

You know those days, everybody has them where you say well, I'll just skip my workout and make up for it tomorrow?  This was me in the last two weeks and it's time I "got out of my head" about it as Tony Horton says and just do my best and forget the rest.  Today was Chest & Back and Ab Ripper and I PUT IN THE WORK!  It felt really good and I'm energized for the rest of the day.  Once I get the workout clothes on and get busy doing the workout I am golden but getting to that point requires a lot of mind chatter on my part.  This week I will focus on quieting my mind chatter and just doing it without over thinking it or over analyzing it but just doing!!  I'm going to give morning workouts another chance this week as after work I find all sorts of excuses to interfere with my workouts or someone else's plan for me interferes such as overtime at work.  Nutrition has not been an issue for me this week and my meals have been on track all week with the exception of two oatmeal raisin cookies that did not fit into my plan.

Yes, Another Change

Okay, I know I said in my last entry that I was going to do ChaLEAN Extreme/TurboFire hybrid but here's the scoop.  Last year I only completed 10 weeks of P90X due to a shoulder injury and heart issues and ever since then my P90X workouts have been staring me in the face.  So I was browsing the available workouts you can auto schedule into WOWY and low and behold they created a P90X/TurboFire hybrid.  This fits what I need as I did not want to give up TurboFire because it gives me the greatest calorie burn of any workout AND it's super fun and the music is GREAT!  So now that my heart surgery is behind me and I'm healing nicely and can lift heavier weights again this is my dream program!!! 

Sooooooooooooooo today was my day 1, Chest & Back and ARX.  Whooooooooooo it was so ugly I can't even describe it BUT I got out of my head about it and showed up and gave it my best and I know that I will get better as the program goes along.  ARX made me feel like I have never done ab exercises before but I did my best and I will get better and stronger as I go and that's why we do this right? 

I'm pumped about this and ready to focus on making my workouts a priority six days a week and focusing on good solid nutrition TO FUEL MY WORKOUTS!!  Today was an awesome fitness day for me.

WOW Where Does the Time Go?

Time flies so fast these days!  Does it feel like that to you too? 

Soooooooo I just started the ChaLEAN Extreme program again yesterday and I am soooooo sore.  Today was supposed to be the 1st of 2 scheduled rest days in the program but I'm only going to take one.  Today I did TurboFire Fire 45 EZ and burned over 800 calories!  It felt good. 

The goals for this week are: 

1.  Do my workout in the mornings first thing (I am NOT a morning person so this will be challenging).  If weather permits I will do my after work walks with my workout buddy too. 

2.  Prep healthy eats today for the coming week.  CHOOSE NOT to eat any of the candy that is offered at my workplace.
