Setbacks Happen

Sometimes, setbacks will happen in your life. You might fall off the wagon in your fitness or eating plan, you might have an injury that throws a wrench in your plans. The important thing is not letting it get you down and finding a way to overcome and push through that setback!

Several years ago, I injured my shoulder at work. It was when I first began my transformation with Beachbody and there amazing programs. At that time, instead of finding a way to overcome the physical limitations I faced with my injury, not being able to do the SI6 and Turbo Jam workouts I had been doing, I stopped exercising all together! Instead of continuing the healthy eating habits I had adopted, I returned to my old eating habits! I'm sure you can guess the results/consquenses: I regained the 25 pounds I had lost!!

I'm dissappointed to admit I've had a few setbacks in my life recently: struggling with migraines and lack of energy from my thyroid condition, I had fallen of the wagon where my workouts were concerned. Then, just as I was feeling better and ready to get back into things, I injured my shoulder (AGAIN!!) at work and will be having surgery this Monday, 3/7.

I am PROUD to admit that this time is different! Instead of letting the injury get me down, I have decided to push through and overcome! Due to pain adn physical limitations from the injury, I'm unable to do any of my Beachbody workouts which I love and miss! I have found some great indoor walking videos that I have been able to modify so that I can do a workout until I have surgery! I'm continuing to follow a healthy diet this time around too!

I know I will need to take a week or so off from exercise after my surgery to recover and heal, but I know I will continue to eat healthy. Once I am able, I will go back to my walking dvd's and eventually be able to return to my favorite programs like Turbo Jam, TurboFire and ChaLean Extreme!

Moral to my story: no matter where you are in your journey, you WILL be faced with difficulties, setbacks and obstacles! It's how YOU chose to face them and respond to them that makes all the difference in your mental and physical health as well as your results!

CLX (re)Starts Today!

I'm super excited to be starting a new round of ChaLEAN Extreme today! The last time I actually did this program was over the summer, so I can't wait to Go Heavy or Go Home again. I've used the dvd's on occasion with my other programs, but not for the full schedule, so I can't wait to fell the muscle soreness and have the bragging rights that will mine this week. Since I always add in extra cardio with this program, I'm excited to have TurboFire for this purpose: I know the results will be amazing. After several weeks of rest from not feling the best and not being as mindful of my portions/calories, my body and mind are ready for a true change and challenge! Time to get back to business and make '11 the best for health and fitness!

New year, new you?

Withe the beginning of each new year, everyone always set's out with their New Year's Resolution's in hand. If you read the Team BeachBody Newsletters, you're probably aware of the pitfalls of resolutions: making them too hard to stick with so it's easy to throw it out the window when you fall off course. I prefer to set "New Year's Goal's" My list of goals I plan to work towards as the year progresses. I have many things on that list: health, fitness, financial, organiziational and family goals~ the BEST part is knowing it is something I will work towards improving ALL year long! I have the main goal written with steps to help me achieve each goal under: this way I can work to become better and know that when I fall ofcourse, which is bound to happen, that it's not the option to turn my head in shame and say that all is lost: it just means I need to accept that I'm human, pick myself up, and work to become better! Here is to becoming a better, happier, and healthier me in '11! Remeber, you CAN do anything you put your mind to!

Lead by Example

1st of all...I haven't blogged in a really long time! Here is a brief update on what's going on in my workouts: I had been combing ChaLEAN Extreme with TurboFire, and I love doing that! It's a KILLER workout and does amazing things for my metabolism and body! But...after leading by example for several years, inviting my husband to join me in my passion for a healthy lifestyle and then backing off, he finally decided to join me in this new lifestyle! He watched Slim In 6, and really liked the dvd's and Debbie's style! I want to support him in his journey, so I'm currently following SI6 for the full 6 weeks with him and adding a TurboFire workout everyday for myself! I'm making my own schedule on this, instead of using the TurboFire schedule. It's been several years since I did SI6, and I can really feel Debbie working my body! I look forward to working out with her and my husband in a way I never looked forward to SI6 before! Since I've been doing some form of Turbo for so long, I know ading the variety of Debbie's routine's to my workouts will only srengthen my muscles and improve my body! I'm super excited to see my results! My husband is alos having great results: he's feeling much better about himself, having more energy amd losing weight! My 3 old is also excited to exercise and we just ordered Tony's workout for him! Ethan can't wait for it to arrive!  Once we finish up SI6 in 4 weeks, we plan to move on to ChaLEAN Extreme together: it feels great to finally have my entire family involved in my passion and be doing something I love with them!

5 Day Inferno Results

So, last week I did the 5 Day Inferno Plan from TurboFire: I was BLOWN Away by my results! In 5 short days, I lost 4.6 pounds and 4 inches off my body! I lost 1 full inch off my waist, 1/2an inch off each thigh and 3/4 inch off my hips! I completely stepped out of my comfort zone while doing this: I HATE fish, but I decided I was eating it anyway, because I was going to follow the plan exactly! Here is what I found: I actually didn't mind the tuna and salmon. Marinated and prepared correctly, it was actually good! I was alos blown away by how much energy I had during the week. I was more mindful than usual about going to bed at a decent time, so I could get up early to work out. During the day, I had more energy than normal and I even added extra workouts: the Core 20 and did a longer HIIT workout the one day! I was also proud of myself for making healthy meals for myself and my family each day: I've been in a food rutt for a VERY long time: I have GERD and gastroporesis and need to be careful of my food choices. Because of this, I became very set in my choices. Most nights, I ate salad with baked chicken, but I'm now trying all sorts of new foods! I'm really looking forward to trying a lot of the meal plans from the cook book and seeing what the next 20 weeks will bring!
