I have been overweight all of my life. In high school, my Dad put me on a diet. I lost so much weight that a girl I'd known for 4 years asked me if I had a brother that went to the school. When I told her my brother had graduated 4yrs. earlier, she said that I looked like this guy named Greg. Then I replied I'm Greg.? From there the new skinny me joined the Coast Guard.Being under way with a lot of

My story begins in April of last year. I weighed in at 396 lbs. I knew I had to do something. I didn't know what was left that I hadn't already tried. When I saw the infomercial for Turbo Jam. I was very interested, but I had already tried the Power 90 series years before with no success. I just was not able to keep up my motivation. So I was a little skeptical, but I tried it anyway.
I did the learn and burn for about a month to make sure I could do the moves. I didn't sign up to be a member until June 11th. I had the moves down pretty good by then, and had already lost about 23 lbs just from the LnB. I knew I would need the extra support from the BB community. By the end of September, I had got down to 346.
I hit a rough spot in the winter time as I get seasonal depression. This time it hit me real bad. I didn't want to exercise or eat right. But I still lurked on the message boards. Thanks to some really great friends on the boards that never let go of my hand (My Angels Paula, Sherry, Michelle, and Sarah and the BEST COACH EVER, Taryn Perry), I came out of it okay. I found out that even though I did my best to self destruct, my body would not let me.(I guess it had had enough). I had been able to stay around the 345 mark. Since the end of March, I switched back to the power 90 series because it was lower impact for my knees. With the motivation from the BB community I've been able to really turn it on. My goal was to get under 300 by summer. And I did that on the Saturday before my one year BB anniversary. As of today I weighed in at 294 lbs. I have come along way. But I still have a long way to go. But I know that with the help of Taryn and my Angels, We will get there. I say we because my success is their success as well. As I also know that when one of us falls, someone will be there to help us up. For those of you out there that are coming from where I've been. Keep at it, keep pushing play. Even if you can't do anything. Eventually it gets easier. Your body will begin to respond. The undoable will become doable. But ONLY IF YOU KEEP PUSHING PLAY. One more thing. Someone close to me thought all of this was a bunch of BS. But I'm here to tell you it isn't. Like anything, you get out of it what you put into it. So it can only be BS, if you only put in BS.
