Fargo, ND 37yo male, tired of being heavy. Used to be a 4 sport athlete, but then life changed but my eating habits didn't. Purchased P90 several months ago and after sitting on my desk finally decided to start it. Will see how things go.
Ok, little more back story. I'm a pediatrician and so I know nutrition/diet/exercise. Motivation has never been an issue except with eating right/exercise. 37yo male, tired of being heavy. Ok, little more back story. I'm a pediatrician and so I know nutrition/diet/exercise. Motivation has never been an issue except with eating right/exercise. I like crappy food, always have, so that's been my achilles' heel. However, I see more and more teens in my clinic with weight issues and obesity. In the last several years as my own weight has climbed, I've felt increasingly like a hypocrit instructing them to lose weight/change their lifestyle while I'm on the other side of the desk weighing just as much if not more.
So, I'm hoping to not just lose for myself, but as an example for the kids I treat. I know how hard it is to exercise daily, I know what it's like to feel hungry all the time, to not have clothes fit well, to get "the look" when I go out to eat. I know what they're going through. I want to show them change is possible, ANYONE can get healthy and all it takes is a little time, commitment and effort.
I also have 4 children. My boys are thin and muscular, but my daughters are built like me. Their solid, strong but if they aren't careful, will gain weight easily. I know they watch how I eat/act so I need to be a good example to them also. I don't want them to have to try to lose #90 when they're in their late 30s.
This time I change my life for myself, my family and my patients.
