Bridget kept encouraging me to get certified to teach Turbo and I finally took her advice and started teaching about six months ago. I LOVE sharing this awesome program with others and empowering them to dig deep and find their power and strength.
Another chapter in my fitness story is that I found the sport of Triathlon about two years ago. When I first started training, at the urging of a friend who did triathlons, I wasn't sure how I would like it or how I would get through even the shortest tri (sprint distance: half mile swim, 12 mile bike, 3.1 mile run); but I put in the training time and as soon as I had finished my first race I was hooked, and I've never looked back. It was so satisfying to work out for a purpose other than just to be fit--it was so much more motivating! A message to any of you who think a triathlon is just for the ultra fit--not so! I've personally witnessed people of all ages,shapes and sizes finish with smiles on their faces (70 year old men and women, people hundreds of pounds over weight, teenagers, people with physical disabilities, etc.). Find something to train for--a 5k fun run even!
The latest chapter in my fitness story is ChaLEAN Extreme. I'm trying to get faster at swimming, biking and running, and weight training is one way to do that. Building muscle gives you more power, and it also makes you leaner (muscle burns fat) so you have less weight to move.
