I recently made the decision to start college for the first time and began as a Freshman in the Fall of 2006. After one semester, I decided (at the recommendation of my English professor) to pursue an English degree. I'm so excited to have this opportunity.

I am a mother with four of the best kids anyone could ever hope for! They make me so proud every day! I want to be a great example of living

My transformation story begins back in 1995. I was in decent health and although I didn't workout every day, I was active and ate mostly healthy. Shortly after finding out we were expecting another baby, I suffered a miscarriage. Several months later I was pregnant again, but miscarried at 14 weeks. After the second miscarriage, my doctor diagnosed me with Graves Disease, which is also known as hyperthyroidism.

Although it caused my metabolism to increase dramatically (I was able to eat anything I wanted and was actually losing weight), the downside was that it also affected my blood pressure and heart rate. The doctor placed me on medication to control this life-threatening condition, which then caused my body to become hypothyroid, or a very slow metabolism. While taking several medications to control this condition, I gained a significant amount of weight, I had zero energy and routinely couldn't get out of bed before noon. After several years of this, my doctor began slowly decreasing the medication, and my thyroid levels remained normal.

In 2000, I was completely off any medication, however I was 55 lbs. overweight. It was then that I started to take my health into my own hands, and began working out consistently and eating nutritiously. In 2001, I became a Certified Fitness Trainer so I could help others attain a healthy lifestyle.

In January of 2006, my husband's mother passed away, and life became very hectic while we assisted his father in selling his home and moving in with us. I worked out inconsistently throughout 2006, and became lazy in my eating habits. The weight slowly started to return, and in November I decided enough was enough and made the decision to start another program. But admittedly, I was bored with all the routines I had been doing previously and as anyone knows, you won't stick with working out if your bored! That's when I came across Turbo Jam while looking through some workouts on Exercise TV. After I did Ab Jam the very first time, I knew this was what I had been looking for. I've lived a fitness lifestyle for six years now and I'm happy to say I've found renewed motivation to reach new goals and be the best I can be! This will be bikini summer baby!!
