I am an ex professional baseball player that has spent the last 10 years on the sidelines doing nothing in terms of fitness. 40 LBs later, I decided it is time to kick butt and get healthy again. I have been running and light weight lifting for the past five weeks. I was a pitcher and workouts for us concentrated on form and reps with not whole bunch of weight. I usually lift three days a week concentrating on a different regions of my body each day with ab workouts in between. I also run on a schedule circulating between circuit training (start/stop) to a long run of 30 minutes. I have also started the slim in 6 series with Debbie Seibers. It is a tough workout using cardio moves and weights. So far I have gone down 30lbs and paid $80 to alter my suits down.
