Warren, MI I am 35, and a former Marine. I used to have an extreme dislike for exercise. In the military it was forced and repetitive. When I got out, I was determined to avoid fitness routines. When I got out, I was determined to avoid fitness routines. Then, I got older and started noticing the “muffin top” I was creating, and how out of shape I felt. Just walking up the stairs was a chore! My cousin is a coach, and told me about Beachbody and the programs that she tried and liked. So, I started the hunt for a program that I could like enough to keep doing after the first week or two. I found it with Turbo Jam. But, you know what else I found? A community with beachbody.com; renewed energy; encouragement and acceptance from my coach at whatever level I was at. I decided almost immediately that I wanted to be a bigger part of this.
When I first signed up as a coach, it was primarily to get the discount so that I could try as many of the products as possible. After falling in love with Turbo Jam, I was counting the days until I was “fit” enough to sink my teeth into P90X. I got discouraged at the time, however, when my work schedule became increasingly demanding over time, and I had to put pretty much EVERYTHING else outside of work on hold for a while. I didn’t like it, but I didn’t have a whole lot of choice.
Now, over a year later, I am back up and running! Literally. I have a new job that allows me more time in my personal life. More importantly, I have finally reached that point that I think everyone has to come to where I became fully committed to making fitness a priority in my lifestyle. I got tired of using the “I don’t have time” excuse. I started making time. When I quit P90X, I excused myself because the workout sessions were an hour or longer. After doing Turbo Jam (which has much shorter sessions), this was too much for me. Or so I told myself. Now, my workout sessions are never shorter than 25 minutes, but they tend to average about an hour. I have been doing Turbo Fire at half-speed for 8 weeks. I am very fortunate that my current employer will allow me 45 minutes of overtime after each shift to work out on location. I work 7 days out of every 14, so I have been going to the gym there on the days I work, and doing my Turbo Fire schedule at home on my days off.
I’m ready for a new level. I have decided to do Turbo Fire/ChaLEAN Extreme hybrid schedule every day. This will take about an hour of sleep away on the days I work, which is a true sacrifice for me, but I find myself experiencing a strong desire to have a higher calorie burn and more muscle tone, and you can’t get it any other way. See you in the WOWY gym!

So far it's been quite a journey to get here. I started my fitness journey over a year ago, but there were obstacles that prevented me from really being committed to it. So, I started back up about 2 months ago, but am now at a point where I am ready to step it up to full speed! I have already lost 7.2 pounds, and my next goal is another 12.8 pounds to hit my first actual goal of 20 pounds. I may or may not want to lose another 5-10 pounds from that point, but I am not sure until I get there. The weight is not as important to me as being healthy and fitting back into my old clothes. And since muscle has its own weight, I need to consider that my muscle tone will be much higher than the last time I fit into those clothes. Ultimately, I do not want to have to buy a new wardrobe, and I'd like to get rid of the "muffin top" I've created in the last few years.
