Colby, KS It's time for a change! Growing up I was always a kid with an athletic build. Was tone and in great shape. Maxed out in high school weighing 165. However, after graduation, I soon found out that the 'Freshman Fifteen' wasn't a myth. Fifteen became twenty. I played intramural sports thinking that was enough, but my eating habits became fast food for lunch & dinner. A It's time for a change! A couple years later, then came the ACL injury to my right knee. It happened in a basketball game right before summer break, which took away all my summer activities. I became complacent with just rehabing my knee and moping around all summer. Before I knew it, I was 200+ pounds.
After my knee regained strength, I joined back into intramural sports & with a laborous job, I was able to get back down to about 180lbs. However, soon college graduation was around the corner. Settled down and go married and began my career. The lifestyle change of working 8-5 and being married again got me complacent and into a bad routine. I had a desk job that had pop and snacks at your disposal 24/7. All you had to do was make the short journey to the break room. I got to where consuming 5-6 pops a day was normal and again, eating out for lunch was quick and easy. Hello McDonald's and Wendy's! Within a couple years of this lifestyle, I ballooned up. I knew I was getting heavier, but was thinking maybe 5-10 lbs. It wasn't until I saw myself in a picture standing in the background that I was like, "Whoa"... I stepped on the scale and it read 220. I had gained 40lbs in a little over a year and was shocked. My parents and sister are both heavier built, so I was just following suit I guess. But that's not who I want to be.
I saw the infomercial one night and started talking to a coworker about P90X. She had mentioned he bought the DVD's but hadn't started it yet. I borrowed the set and started working out right away. I hadn't been doing any exercising and started cold turkey. Needless to say I was unbelievably sore the first week or so. I made it through 3 weeks, then quit. Not sure why. I had lost 10 lbs and was gaining strength. Just wasn't able to maintain.
I've started and stopped a couple other times on P90X. I've recently been dieting and losing weight, so where I'm in a little better shape and seeing some results, I'm hoping this go around I'll be more apt to stick with it and change my body and life the way I know this program can. Thought I'd join team beachbody to get some help and inspiration as I'm taking this challenge on by myself.
Glad to be apart of this team and hope to achieve some amazing results over the next few months.

My main goal is to tone up and lose weight. I'm what you might call, "loose in the cage", and would love to burn off some fat and just tighten everything up. Like most people, my main areas I'd like to work on is my chest and abs. My motto for this life changing decision is "Man Boobs Be Gone"!
