My name is Derrick Lillard and I'm 35 years old and currently residing in Atlanta, GA. I'm originally from the Southside of Chicago and I played football at the University of Louisville from 1991-1996. I've always been involved in excercise, lifting weights at the age of fifteen. The main reason I started lifting was for a girl I was trying to impress, and lets just say I had sand kicked in my face. At that moment I knew I did not want that to happen again so I started my fitness journey.
My journey has taken me through many hills and valleys with a lot of disappointment, frustration and fear of failure. I can remember when I played football I ran 2.2 miles in 25 minutes, an embarrasment to myself because my teammates never let me live it down. I weighed at the most 320 pounds and I felt everybit of it. So after my college career ended I took it upon myself to lose weight. It went slowly but I'm now down to 255 pounds with room for improvement. Because of my joy of fitness and the belief that anyone can achieve their goal I became a certified trainer, allowing myself to help others. I feel better, look better and I don't thing about sand getting kicked in my face(so far).
I became involved with Beachbody because I believe in what in the service provided. From DVDS to Nutrition there are so many options to help people reach their goal. I've reached a new level in my life, a healthier life that I have shared with my fiance,my family and friends and any person that has a serious desire for change.Once a person reaches their own specialized goal their confidence will sky rocket and that makes me happy, to give.
My goal is to put on more muscle mass and maintain an ideal healthy weight. With that in mind I believe that the Beachbody program is the an ideal program that can help me reach that goal, as well as help others.
