I am 35 yrs old, married for 13 yrs and have 3 wonderful boys, with another on the way this August!
In 2006 I was reasonably very fit, and I had worked very hard to loose over 100 lbs. I was 338 lbs in 2004. I decided that something needed to be done. So I went on the Atkins diet, and lost the weight. I had also been working out at a local gym.

In June 2006, I injured my back and had to have emergency surgery to correct a protruded disc at L5-S1. The disc actually had ruptured, and went back towards my spinal column. It had pinched the nerves so much that I was getting numbness down my left leg. I was also in A LOT of pain!
The surgeons assured me that it would fix my problems. However, over 2 1/2 years later, I still had a weak left leg, with numbness from my hip to my toes. I could still do some activities, I used to, but had a little difficulty. During the time since my surgery, I had been waiting to get better. In that time, I had gained quite a bit of weight back, and was 295 lbs. I was very unhappy that I had let my surgery become and excuse.
I wanted to be fit again! I wanted my wife to be impressed with my physique again! I want to be able to do things with my boys,especially my youngest ones, because I will be 45 when my youngest is 10!
A guy I work with (who was a little on the chubby side too) started P90X, and was getting amazing results. I asked him about it, and decided for myself to get it. I did not realize at that time, until I opened the box, that there was a fit test with minimum requirements. So, I did the test and surprised myself! I passed each of the requirements, some only by the minimum, but I passed!
So, I officially started March 22, 2009.

July 14, 2009, I completed P90X. My results were ok, but not as much as I wanted them to be. I guess that maybe I expected a little too much. However, I did loose 27 lbs, and 6 1/2" from around my waist. Of course, I also gained strength, and some defenition in my arms and back.
I knew from the the start, that I would need to continue, because I had so much to change. Originally, I had planned on only taking 1-2 weeks off before starting a second round, but it ended up being 4 1/2 instead. I was very busy, as it has been over the summer, and I also lost track of eating right, and not to mention our 4th son born at the end of July. Subsequently, I put 7 lbs back on and was feeling quite guilty about that. So, I determined in my mind, that I would not slide back any further, and finally started my second round on August 10th.
