I am a native of Atlanta Georgia, the Motown of the south. When I was born, my family found out my mother had multiple sclerosis, and though she was and is a very strong individual, dealing with her illness was how I began to overeat. Food was a way to self-medicate my sorrow, because I did not know how to deal with my mother’s condition and no one talked to me about it. So I ate. I was alone in my struggle with weight. I was the only overweight person in my family. I was made fun of at school, and was called every name in the book. And even though I played sports like baseball, football, basketball and karate, my calorie intake literally outweighed my activity level and I kept getting heavier. In eighth grade I discovered my passion: music. I quickly gave up sports to concentrate on my new love, and as a result gained weight even faster. Over the years, I continued to move toward my dream of being a singer and songwriter, and was even selected as a semi-finalist on American Idol. I was thrilled! But even though the judges said I did a great job, I was sent home. Why? I was certain it was because of my weight. My weight was literally keeping me from achieving my most coveted goals and dreams. But one day The Biggest Loser television show had a casting call in Atlanta. I ran right over and applied. A few months later, I stepped onto the Biggest Loser scale on campus, and learned I was 346 pounds. From that moment on, I was on a mission. I worked as hard as I could each and every day. And yes, there were days when I wanted to quit, that I thought I could not make it, but my trainer Kim Lyons and my fellow cast members helped me push through the physical and mental pain. Every day I applied a ‘don’t quit’ attitude, especially when the going was tough, or I was craving something unhealthy. But Kim once told me that nothing tastes as good as fit and healthy feels, and she was right. Today I weigh 220 and am healthier and happier than I have ever been before. I am fully committed to becoming a professional singer, songwriter and entrepreneur, and hope to start a family with my wife Kenisha soon. Now I am confident I can be a good role model and father to my kids and won’t teach them unhealthy habits. I know there are tons of people out there like myself, and I would love to help each and every one of you with your fight against obesity. I am proof that the fight can be won, one calorie at a time, one workout at a time.

The key to my transformation was a total life style change. Before The Biggest loser I was not active at all. My diet. . .it was horrible. Since under going my transformation, I exercise six days a week for about two hours a day. I found activities that I really enjoy. I think that this is important to staying active. I have also found away to cook tasty foods in a healthy manner. Before I began this journey I weighed 346 pounds. I have lost 125 pounds and, currently, I weigh 221 pounds.
