I used to run track in High School and I was super fast and super fit. My senior year (2008) I was diagnosed with Hyper Thyroidism and Congestive Heart Failure and eventually hospitalized. After being released I was a weakling, frail and skinny. It seemed like all of a sudden that my weight came back and then some! I was so distressed. I was so used to being fit and active and I felt so fat. Long story short after the doctor OK'd me working out I started running. It was still depressing because I was no where near as fast as I was in high school. Still I stuck with it. I became vegetarian and a little later I joined 24hr Fitness. I loss 20lbs, but then got stuck in high 140's. However, I was fit and okay with it. When I was finally able to go back to school (Fall 2011) I gained 10+lbs the first semester! I was slacking on working out at first, but I didn't think I'd gained that much! I started back working out and I was still vegetarian, but my diet consisted of mostly junk! I was 157 and hating it so I decided it was time to clean my diet. My church does an annual Daniel Fast at the beginning of every year and I decided to actually do it that year (Spring 2012). After the Daniel Fast I was 70% Vegan working out even harder. I was down to 142 by the beginning of the summer, which is when I went 100% Vegan. Over the summer I reached my goal of 136lbs and remained a strict vegan and I loved it. However, be fit wasn't enough. I decided a week ago to take the Insanity Challenge to tone up and get rid of any extra. I tried Insanity for a few weeks in the summer and loved it! Today (Sept. 15, 2012) was my 5th day and I'm already seeing changes! I'm loving it and I can't wait until day 60!
