Well here I am at about the 45 day mark and I couldn't possibly tell you how excited I am about the changes so far. After gaining so much weight I was becoming very depressed about how, or if, I could ever lose it. This system has absolutely saved my life. I used to tell people that I was eating about 1000 calories a day and all I did was gain gain gain...it was an overwhelming hopeless feeling. I started keeping a journal of all my meals; anything I ate, anything I drank, everything counted, even if it was just one bite. I was absolutely shocked to see just how little I was allowing myself to eat. To be honest, I got really scared because I do have some medical concerns and what I was doing was seriously dangerous for me. Then I got mad at myself, I knew better than to do that, I could stand here all day and tell you how bad "not eating" was but I was completely blind that I was doing it to myself. Then I got serious!

I took the first 30 days or so just getting back to eating right. I used to spend about 2hrs/day, 5-6 days/week in the gym but my life got busy and I really had gotten away from that, however before I could put any serious effort into returning to the gym I felt that I needed to give my body a chance to recover from what I had done to it. I needed to bring my metabolic system back by giving it something to work with before I started demanding anything from it.

One of the greatest tools that MDB has given me for success is to plan my menus with things I know I will eat. There are so many programs out there that make you buy their food, but what good are they if it's not food you want to eat, or will eat. MDB's menu planners not only allow me to choose food I want to eat, but allows me to plan around those life events like birthday parties, family gatherings, company meetings, etc... so that I can enjoy them and not have to isolate myself because I can only have the pre-designed meal some other plan told me to eat.

Now that I have spent 30+ days successfully recovering from my own stupidity, it is time to kick the workouts into a higher gear. I have no doubt that I will see the weight continue to drop off. I have lost 10 lbs just because I have started eating, so by "eating right" and "pushing play" I see no reason my goal of 50 more couldn’t be achieved!!!

01/08/08 UPDATE!!! Wooohooo! I made it through the holidays and did the unthinkable, I actually LOST WEIGHT!! The holidays were so hectic, food everywhere! Between the hustle of all the events with family, friends and traveling my sister got married, but through it all I did my best to stay focus and was so proud of myself for actually losing as much as I did. I have about 15 weeks left to reach my goal and with only 44 lbs left I feel strong and confident that I can do this, but more importantly do it right!

UPDATE 03/08/08 Things have been crazy crazy for me lately but I have stuck with the plan and I am seeing the results. I think the most important thing to remember is that it's not a "diet", it is a change in what was a bad habit (specifically for me it was "not" eating as opposed to eating wrong or too much). My husband and I are going on a cruise soon with a group of friends so I've had to go shopping for new clothes, and I can't possibly be any more giddy that the reason I had to buy new clothes is because of the weight loss. Unfortunately, I doubt that I will reach my goal of "60 lbs. in 6 mnths" by my deadline, however I know I WILL reach my goal. I honestly do not feel like I "failed" becuase it was a very aggresive and ambitious goal, I will reach it and then move forward to another goal because I have had some great success with the programs available and all the tools I have through BB.

Time has really gotten away from me, life has gotten in the way of my updates. I fell off the weight wagon a little, actually I just fell back into old habits, I try to eat like I should but it is hard for me to take time to eat when I should, much less what I should. Making time for workouts has been a little difficult although I have been doing them but as a coach I have to be honest and say that although I have been doing them, my lack of consistency to time and program has minimized the effectiveness I could be getting from them. I had the opportunity to meet Tony Horton a few weeks ago and I have made a new commitment to my health and fitness goals...stay tuned, body under construction!
