Hi! I am extremely motivated to change my life, that's for sure!!! I used to be so full of energy and life while in high school and college, but when my direction in college changed due to money issues (my program was a private college, $24,000 per year for 3 more years), I lost my way.

I used to be so full of energy and life while in high school and college, but when my direction in college changed due to money issues (my program was a private college, $24,000 per year for 3 more years), I lost my way.
I started hopping from job to job, school to school, desperate to find my way. I eventually gained even more weight from alcohol, poor eating habits, and lack of exercise. Then, at the age of 27 in 2004, I was diagnosed with severe panic disorder. I was just sitting at my computer when I dropped to the floor and fought for my life, or so it seemed, for 4 ½ grueling hours. That night changed my life, as I started having panic attacks every night and forgot what it was like to just fall asleep… plus, I learned what fear was all about. I ended up taking the anti-anxiety medicine but rejected the anti-depressants after having 2 very bad experiences (nightmares for 4 months!!!). I made some changes back then, such as ending a relationship and quitting my job as a recruiter. Recently, I met someone great who tries to understand what I go through. In fact, we’re engaged to be married August 16th! My fiancé is doing the Power 90 program, too, as we would like to look good for our wedding. While I am using a picture of a beach (and pictures of the guys from 300) for motivation, there is no way we can afford to even see the ocean for our honeymoon.. I hope to see the ocean sometime in the next few years, though, especially to showoff my new body in 90 days from writing this!
In a nutshell, I cope with panic disorder everyday. Do you know what it’s like to fear your own heartbeat? To think that I am mostly “normal” and can fit into society again boggles my mind somedays. I always told myself that a natural approach is best. So far, I’ve done everything that I know except get into great shape. I hope, more than anyone can know, that I have what it takes to do this program and that this program will give me what I need in life. Peace and stability, as I lack both… That being said, I am a very positive person who’s been beaten up a bit. My panic disorder makes my heart and adrenaline spike, so the workouts will be extraordinarily difficult to adapt to, but I will persevere!
I am currently a recruiter for a company that hires people in the information technology field to work at the Mayo Clinic and IBM. I love the job, but it is extremely hard! I’m good with people, but I am tired all day long. There is no room to be tired at this job!
So, that’s my background with my motivation… Now, the hobbies that enrich my life! I have been playing guitar for 16 years now and even played in a band for 5 years, writing my own music… I used to like to go out to the clubs a lot, however, I've become somewhat lame and have been staying home in an effort to be healthier, although I feel that I've just become lazy while dealing with my medical issues. :) Since I’ve bounced around a lot from job to job and along with my health issues, I started reading enlightening books about getting out of the rat race and how to retire early. Robert Kyosaki and others… I want this more than anything, but I don’t have the stability or confidence to do this, yet… I believe that I will reshape my life and would like to talk to other like-minded people. Also, feel free to ask me about panic and share thoughts and stories if you like. I’m looking for assistance and am happy to provide it!

So far, I'm in the beginning stages of the program. It has been difficult due to the pain factor thanks to my accident in July 2007. I finished physical therapy with the maximum medical benefit, leaving me with what could be permanent lower back pain and knee issues. This is not good enough for me! Plus, I have almost fully conquered severe, off-the-charts panic disorder and depression. I still fight it every day, without medicine, and getting into fantastic shape is considered my last chance before being medicated. I want control in my life and want to feel happy and good again! I've never seen the ocean and have never been able to go on an awesome vacation. I am getting married this year, but we can't afford to go anywhere nice!!! So, we're doing Power 90 together, which we feel will help us be more competitive in our careers, as well as reshape our lives in every way. Then, maybe in a year or three, we can get that vacation to the Caribbean or Hawaii that we dream of!!! I'M GOING FOR IT! I want the "gold medal" so I am sticking to the program word for word, food for food, ingredient for ingredient.. NO CHEATING! I owe this to myself, and it's time to be intense once again. Plus, I hope the pain will go away and I can feel good to take my shirt off when I get to be on a real beach on the ocean!
