My Photos | ButtrflyGirl Vineland, NJ Hi! My name is Melissa and I am a teacher in Virginia Beach. I moved here from South Carolina, but am from South Jersey originally. I have been here for several years and love it so far! I have always been thin and very active. I participated in gymnastics, cheerleading, and danced for drama throughout high school along with aerobics every morning. I also suffered (secretly) from bulimia and Hi! I also suffered (secretly) from bulimia and anorexia throughout highschool. My typical day consisted of waking at 4 am to do the Jane Fonda aerobic video for 90 min. Go to school, go to cheerleading from 2:30 to 3:30 then right to gymnastics from 3:30 to 6:00. If I was currently in a play I would stay for drama until 10:00 and if I wasn't I would go home and do another round of Jane Fonda. From 4 am to 11pm all I ate would be either a 4 oz cup of fruit or salad (no dressing) and a 4 oz carton of skim milk. I was not so much obsessed with being skinny, although that was a big part of it (I wouldn't take vitamins because of the extra calories), it was more control over my life. Once college came into the pic I became pretty relaxed... (now seemingly like I had total control of my life... yeh right!!!) parties... lounging... etc... Then I became really involved with Alpha Xi Delta which didn't leave time for much else... after I graduated and began teaching I realized that I couldn't keep up with my 16 three-year-old preschoolers for 10 hours a day. So, I returned to my old workout/eating routine until I discover Si6 in 2002. I began a new, healthier lifestyle. All was going well until... Early last summer (2004) I injured my back and was incapacitated for the duration of the summer. Thus, I gained 40 lbs, which did not help in the healing. I began taking ballet and doing pilates in October and that helped me lose 10 lbs, and keep my back stretched and getting used to gentle exercise. Summer 2005 is now here and I am ready to jump into a new Slim in 6 program!! After completeing the Si6 in July then the Slim Series program, in August, I realized that I didn't see the results I hoped for, but my summer was also crazy busy traveling back and forth to Jersey, not having a set workout schedule...blah, blah, blah... BUT I did not gain weight or inches during this "down time" SO I see that as a big giant plus!!!! I ordered Turbo Jam in early September, and realized after a month of the program that I want to teach others!!! I am soooo excited!!! My childhood friend, Becky, asked me what took me so long to realize I would be a good instructor??? She had wondered years ago why I didn't do this earlier... hmmmmm.... I guess working out and helping others is just in my nature... Although now I concentrate on eating healthier and having fun with TJ, I still fall immediately into the bulimic/anorexic state as soon as things in my life go out of control. I am not sure if that will ever change, but I wake up each day and think, "Turbo Jam is my outlet... relax and have fun!" It is a start to the new me... I was meant for BeachBody... I am a walking, talking commercial!!! :o) p.s. I am sure my friends and family get tired of hearing about this, but I dont care... I still bring them my old videos (to borrow) when I go home and have them workout with me!!!!! ahhhhhhhhh..... maybe someday they will LOVE BeachBody as much as I do!!!! I used the SI6 the summer of 2002 with great results (lost 10 lbs and went from a size 6 to a size 2, plus I had ENORMOUS amounts of energy). I was already thin and healthy... so I thought. After completing the program (and seeing how unfit I really was!! :oP ) I maintained my new health and weight until last summer (2004). Now I am looking forward to the same incredible feeling and results I got from the program last time! :o) I have since ordered Slim Series, after completing Si6, and completed a round of that program which ended in August. I absolutely LOVED the variety and flexibity that program provided!! I was able to make it my own by targeting what I specifically needed (ie: my bootay, abs, legs...). In, September I ordered Turbo Jam....I became hooked!!!! It has only been a month so far and I am already planning to sign up to take the class to be an instructor. I want the complete collection and CANNOT wait for the New Year to get here so I can get the 3 new intense videos. I have found my niche!!!! THEN....life happened. I changed jobs, my schedule got crazy hectic and my workouts went kaput! My eating was so~so. It was more of what is most healthy and convenient at the same time. No planning involved. I didn't gain weight, but lost lots of toning and confidence. Just when I thought all hope was lost (not really I'm just being dramatic here for effect...) I get an email from Chalene about this cool TurboJam Houseparty. I entered, thinking there is no way in the world I will be one of the 1000 selected to host this shindig. Fate was with me because I was chosen!! Now I am gathering my many friends, many offline and out of state, to complete this program with me! I am totally excited to be sharing this!! I do have higher goals than just the 10lbs or 10 inches in 10 days simply because I am adding riding my bike daily to work and also doing hot yoga 3 times a week. Doing these extra components I fully intend to reach all my goals by May 25th. Not too much time for a complete workout, so my results were not what they wanted... But I am onto better things! In July of 2006 I went for my TurboKick Certification... and got it!!! :o) :o) It was the most exhilirating experience ever!!! The downside is only having one day I am able to teach classes... :o( Lots as happened since I last logged on. I had another back injury in September 2006. I sprained it bowling... It set me back quite a bit. Everything I do now is in a modified version. Having said that, I saw the Slim Series Express infomercial (this works well in my busy schedule). Accidently, I ordered it. ;o) So now that Summer 2007 is upon me I am going to give it a shot! I'm confident that I will acheive every goal I set!!
