Graduated from the School of Mines in South Dakota (SDSM&T) with a B.S and from the University of Colorado at Denver with a M.S. Am a professional structural engineer, licensed in several states, and work in an office environment and occasionally get out visiting projects through the Western seventeen States.
Have been married since 1986 and have one daughter who will be a teenager soon. The wife and I have a basement full of some nice athletic exercise equipment with a T.V. and VCR to participate and enhance our workouts with DVD and VHS routines such as the Beachbody series.
Grew up in rural Minnesota with eight brothers and sisters. Participated in high school and college sports such a track, football, and martial arts and did extremely well. Now I'm over forty and yes, the body is changing.

For my lean, tall, slender, v-shaped stature, felt that I was 20 pounds over weight and wanted to get ripped and add muscle mass to my arms and chest. The idea of having my six packs back was a goal of mine and a 2008 New Years resolution. Prior to turning forty, I was always slim and had defined abs but that started to change and appears to happen to others, too.
I was new to the Million Dollar Body program and have seen astonishing transformation results in such a short period of time. Prior to Beach Body I exercised on a regular basis, but felt that I had platued since I was not loosing weight or gaining muscle mass. I was lifting and running on a regular basis, but was not satisfied with the results. Reviewed old VHS tapes of some Beachbody routines and a dozen other popular routines that were in my (actually my wife's) vast collection of workout tapes.
By the way the wife looks great and has always been conscientious about her appearance; she eats very healthy and has introduced this philosophy to our dinner table with her cooking.
November 2007, my wife purchased the Slim in 6 and some Slim Series CD's and in December 2007, I purchased the P90X Program; we need to communicate better. At the end of March 2008, she purchased the Turbo Jam series, also.
Slim in 6 Routine (January to March 8, 2008) - Began the routine which includes a seventh week (Keep It UP)and supplemented the routine with Slim Series (Shape It Up, Mix It Up, and Tear It Up) and running 2.5 mile three times per week. Started Phase II (Ramp It Up) week 2 on February 4, 2008 and a 15 day cleans using Natures Way Thisilyn with herbal digestive sweep. Started Phase III (Burn It Up) week three on February 11, 2008. During the phase, completed Beachbody's 2-Day Fast Formula over a weekend to cleanse the digestive system to activate fat-burning metabolism. Phase III (Ramp It Up) week six begins March 3, 2008. During the last week, completed the 6 Day Express diet. At the end of the program I had lost 13 pounds (190 to 177 lbs), lost 10% body fat (23% to 13%), lost 2 1/2" on my waist (35 1/2" to 33"), and lost 2 1/2" on my hips (39 1/2" to 37"). Used the Slim in 6 routine to reduce body fat and gain deep muscular strength to launch myself into the P90X routine.
Power P90 Routine (March 9 to March 31, 2008) - Began a three week program using the P90 Routine. Week one consisted of Circuits 1 & 2 (Sculpt! and Sweat!), week two consisted of Circuits 3 & 4 (Sculpt! and Sweat!), and week three consisted of running 2.5 miles per day. Weeks one and two were supplemented with running 2.5 miles and walking, also. Did this short three week routine to prepare myself for the Power P90X program...my ultimate goal. I’m so excited about the potential results. Clothes are real loose and I lost my love handles. Lean, toned, and injury free and ready for the next step in my transformation...muscle building and endurance.
P90X Routine (April 1 to July 1, 2008)-- Started out and weighed in at 175 pounds with 14% body fat, 44-inch chest, 33-inch waist, 36-inch hips, and 13.5-inch bicep bullets. Coming to gyms (i.e., my basement) near you (relative term).
P90X Day 30 (April 26, 2008, overall end of week 12): Completed the four first weeks of P90X and am settling into the routine. At an impasse between loosing fat and gaining muscle and holding the same weight with 2 to 4 pound fluctuations. Am getting ripped and see the six packs. Want more muscle mass which will come with hard work and time. Diet Plan: P90X Extreme Home Fitness Nutritional Plan Phase 1 Fat Shredder Level II 2,400 Calories/Day.
P90X Day 60 (May 25, 2008, overall end of week 16): Beginning third phase week 9 of the routine. Gained endurance and strength. Results are slower to obtain. Sill not satisfied with my chin-ups, but doing better on pushups. Clothes don't fit anymore and had to buy new clothes. Friends are irritated with me because I do not go out to eat every day since I bring my lunch to work. Diet Plan: P90X Extreme Home Fitness Nutritional Plan Phase 2 Energy Booster Level II 2,400 Calories/Day.
P90X Day 90 (June 25, 2008, end of P90X week 12 and overall end of week 20): To come.
Post P90X: Plan on taking a month off from extreme routines but maintain a low calorie diet with running on a daily basis. Then I plan on working out to Beachbody’s Turbo Jam series and then picking up on some Slimming series workouts that I had by-passed. And then again to P90X Doubles to get ready for my Spring of 2009 30th year High School Reunion.
