My name is Mike Love and I am a husband, father, a NSCA certified personal trainer and a (semi-retired) attorney who is now completely focused on achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle while guiding others to health and fitness as a Beachbody Coach and certified personal trainer.
Years ago I was athletic, active and pursued my life with vigor and charged with the energy that daily fitness pursuits provided. I taught mountaineering and skiing, ran races, rode bicycles competitively, lifted weights, practiced karate, played in pick-up games and led a life focused on doing, moving and with the pleasure of being fit. Then as I immersed myself in trial practice as a lawyer I slowly lost touch with my physical-self. I gained weight and over the years the pounds piled on. I still exercised but my efforts were sporadic and compromised by a lifestyle of constant work in the highly competitive environment of courtrooms. I achieved great success as a trial lawyer and had immersed every aspect of myself into my profession. In 2003 I weighed more than 340 pounds (my weight actually exceeded my scale's range), which in every definition is obese. Despite that unhealthy weight, and in what was at least an exercise of sheer will power, I climbed Mt. Whitney, which is the highest peak in the lower 48. Climbing Mt. Whitney provided no epiphany for me but step by step, the illusions in my life slowly dissolved. I recognized that my success in law was paid for by my health. It was an absurd trade. Ironically, I reached the peak of the highest peak in the continental United States and a personal bottom at the same time. As we descended Mt. Whitney, my resolve to become fit increased. Once I returned home, I joined a local health club and at times made good progress in losing weight and becoming fit only to lose it to the demands of my practice. Eventually, I enlisted personal trainers and a nutritionist but even then lasting change was not at hand. By 2004, I lost at least 60 pounds only to regain every lost pound over the next five years. I was unhappy, unhealthy and frustrated by my inability to manage my life and my health. But, despite my frustrations, I did not give up. I dug a bit more deeply--made the paradigm shift to change my life and integrated health and fitness (rather than being something I did extra, of course, previously assuming I had time). Diet is no longer deprivation but eating what I require. My life is now about what will insure my good health and in the process of that discovery, I recognized that I want to help other people to become fit and realize not only good health but a better life. I've lost over 90 pounds of fat in just over a year by incorporating my wife's P90x DVD's to my workout regime. The difference is profound. The change I feel is stunning. In the process of my personal revolution I also earned my credentials as a nationally certified personal trainer by applying my accumulated knowledge from working with trainers, nutritionists and amassed from years of reading nearly every fitness publication I could get my hands on. That knowledge with further study enabled me to pass the difficult NSCA-CPT exam. So now I'm a certified personal trainer and I guide people up their own mountains and professionally help others find fitness in the work and life balance. My passion is fitness and helping others get there.
In 2010, will lose another 30 pounds while improving my fitness and re-achieve a level of fitness that was just a distant memory and for too many what they think is impossible for an over 40 year old person. How will I do this? It's could not be more straight forward-- by completing the 90 day P90X program and then from there maybe P90X:MC2! I am so impressed with P90X, Shakeology (which is a key part of my day now) and Beachbody that I've made it part of my life as a independent Team Beachbody Coach. It may sound a bit corny but I could not be more sincere, Beachbody is my vehicle for better health.
Once again athletic, active and pursuing my life with vigor and charged with the energy that daily fitness pursuits provides.

Retired attorney regaining healthy lifestyle. Over the years as I immersed myself in a trial practice my weight increased. At first in small increments and then over the years the pounds piled on. I weighed so much that it surpassed the ability of my scale to measure it. In the past 14 months, I've lost over 80 pounds of fat and now with P90x I will lose another 35 pounds of fat and be better able to leverage my new career as a NSCA-CPT certified personal trainer.
