As a healthcare professional I feel obligated to my profession to demonstrate good health and fitness habits. How can I teach healthy behaviors if I'm not doing it myself?

I've never been obese but have struggled with my weight my entire life despite being involved in exercising regularly.
I've always enjoyed being physically active such as martial arts (I have a 2nd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do), kayaking, walking, pilates, strength training and kickboxing. I love the sense of accomplishment exercise gives me.
Over the last 4 years, I simply got out of any workout routine while working on my masters degree and here I am a year out of graduation and still not fulfilling my promise to get back into shape.
Now that I've gotten older, keeping the pounds off is more difficult and my muscles are just plain flabby. My mental health is also being affected. I've started to notice my mind is not as sharp, my memory and concentration are dull and I'm not sleeping well. Exercise and eating right are the cure for this oh so common problem for those approaching middle age.
I plan to lose about 30# but my main focus is to tone up and develop long lean muscles. Looking at my face, you would not necessarily guess that I'm 47 years old but, my body gives me away. I want my youth back and I'm going to get it!
