Nashville, TN I was first introduced to Beachbody on June 26, 2004. I was up early that morning watching the Slim in 6 infomercial while getting ready to take a five hour road-trip to go to wedding. At that time, I was one year out of college and had just finished my first year teaching during which I had put on about 5 to 10 pounds. My favorite clothes didn't fit and I wasn't happy. THAT very I was first introduced to Beachbody on June 26, 2004. I was up early that morning watching the Slim in 6 infomercial while getting ready to take a five hour road-trip to go to wedding. At that time, I was one year out of college and had just finished my first year teaching during which I had put on about 5 to 10 pounds. My favorite clothes didn't fit and I wasn't happy. THAT very morning before I left on my road-trip I jumped online and ordered Slim in 6. Within 3 weeks, my clothes fit again and close friends were noticing and asking what I was doing. In the six-and-a-half years since, I have gotten married, and I am now a stay-at-home mom to two beautiful daughters ages 3 and 15 months who keep me very busy. With all the changes in my life, my weight has gone up and down (especially since I gained 50 lbs. with each of my pregnancies!), but Team Beachbody has been there as a constant motivation to stay healthy. I have now used Turbo Jam, Power 90, Hip Hop Abs, and most recently Turbo Fire. I am looking forward to doing Chalean Extreme in the near future and even possibly P90x after that.
One of the things I am keenly aware of is the connection between fitness and nutrition. As I have recently entered my 30’s I am noticing more and more that I CANNOT eat whatever I want and still expect to get great results from my workouts. At the same time, if I am really working out, but I am not making the best food choices my body lets me know about it because I don’t have the energy I need to make it through something like a really intense HIIT workout. I am excited to begin including Shakeology daily in my diet while at the same time working diligently to eat as cleanly as possible. I have always eaten well, but now I want to make sure that I am including as many whole, unprocessed foods as possible.
In November of 2010, after years of talking to friends and family about my love of all things Beachbody, I FINALLY decided to become an Independent Team Beachbody Coach. I am excited to begin building a team of people that I can help motivate on their roads to health through fitness and nutrition, while they help to keep me motivated. As the title of this blog (and my Beachbody screen name) suggest, I am a CARDIO JUNKY. I love hard-core, high-intensity, gonna make you sweat cardio. I also danced for 15 years growing up, so I really gravitate towards all things TURBO and their creator Chalene Johnson. While I've had results with all the other programs I have tried, I have had the easiest time staying motivated first with TURBO JAM and now with TURBO FIRE. But that's just me, and I'm here to help you find the best program that will keep you motivated to get the best results of your life.

My profile picture is actually the picture I posted back at the end of the summer of 2006 after a summer-long commitment to Turbo Jam. I gained 50 pounds while I was pregnant, and 10-15 lbs are still hanging on even now that my little girl is almost 1. My goal is to get back to where I was at the end of the summer of 2006 and re-connect with my early morning success buddies who are still going strong.
