I was your typical kid turned chubby teenage girl. As my early and already awkward teen years set in, I realized that I wasn't happy with myself, namely my few extra pounds, and decided to do something about it. I cut back on some time and bad habits spent with my friends, started doing basic exercises I learned from a book and really reigned in my diet. Fortunately my ever-active and fit-conscious mom was a great support to me and in 6 months I lost 24 pounds. It was then this became my lifestyle, not easy for a teenager but I was determined and haven't looked back.

I later became a gym rat for several years, but as life and work developed and the demands on my time changed, I found it harder and harder to get to the gym. I began missing my regular workouts and paying for a membership I wasn't using so, being the DIY girl that I am, I decided to start working out at home on MY time schedule. I began building a video library, added a few pieces of equipment along the way and more than 15 years later I'm still reaping the benefits thanks in part to my Beachbody workout programs.

Staying fit and healthy has helped me to not only look and feel my best inside and out, but it has also allowed me to do things I never thought I'd do and set goals to do more. For example, in the last few years I started hiking and thanks to some very special people, I've had so many opportunities to explore on foot some of the most incredible scenery around! From this I've learned a lot, not only about the outdoors, but also about myself and much about what I really AM capable of and I am truly grateful. It's hard and sometimes really exhausting work and I've had to earn every step, but the rewards have been GREAT and well worth it! Whether from the top of the highest mountain or the bottom of the grandest canyon, there is nothing like that feeling of accomplishment and self-satisfaction while enjoying the views, saying "I DID IT!!!".

Now I realize hiking as such may not be for everyone, but in a sense we all have our own "mountains" to climb. Being healthy and fit is truly one of THE BEST ways to help overcome them, physically, mentally and emotionally. Whether you're a gym-goer or not, just getting started, looking to lose weight or lean out, have health challenges or nutritional concerns, need to mix things up, break through a plateau, or want to help and inspire others by becoming a Coach--whatever your motivation, with YOUR will and determination, me as your personal Coach, and the incredibly comprehensive tools, resources and support of the Beachbody community, with every step toward your goals, you too will take pride in saying "I DID IT!!!"
