I had always been a “round” kid. My father was round, so I figured I got his genes.

I had always been a “round” kid. My father was round, so I figured I got his genes.
In my first year in college, I gained 40lbs. I stayed on campus the first semester, and was exposed to cafeteria cooking. I had fries with every meal, 3x’s a day. Fat-laddened gravy, coated every meat by-product and sugary drinks to wash it down. I gained more than my share of the “freshman 15”.
I was embarrassed to be in photos and had to wear "fat" clothes. I started to have a hard time climbing stairs and even biking to school was getting harder.
That’s when I realized how badly I had to change my ways. The next semester, I moved out of campus and started to cook my own healthy meals. This is where I discovered how to go back to my roots and eat traditional Chinese food. I also signed up to try a different sport or activity every semester. I did fencing, swimming, diving, canoeing, aerobics, skiing, tae kwon do, tennis, running and biking.

Then at age 36, after having my 3rd child, I had to lose 35lbs from weight I had gained from all the pregnancies. On top of that, I discovered that I had osteopenia. I was .01 away from having Osteoporosis.
I worked out relentlessly to lose the extra pounds. I joined a gym and did classes and ran on the treadmill. I lost 10lbs, but was having the hardest time losing the last 25lbs and my waist was still huge.
Then I tried a Turbo Jam class and I fell in love with it right away. It combined all the moves that I had learned in all the various sports that I had tried and it challenged my body even more. Since then, I’ve been able to really tone up and I’m at my best condition ever.
With Turbo Jam, I was able to lose 20lbs and it came off fast. It was through my coach, that I discovered that there was more to Beachbody than just Turbo Jam.
I was so impressed by how Turbo was able to change my life, that I signed up as a Beachbody Coach, and have been working out to P90, P90X, Hip Hop Abs, Chalean Extreme, and Slim in 6. I started on the supplements, including Shakeology, and have seen a huge difference in my body. I also started weight & resistance training with P90X, and now my bone density is starting to improve too.

I cannot express enough how great a program Beachbody is, with all the online resources, and great coaches. On top of that, I get to make money while advocating health and fitness.
