I just graduated college - I was a college athlete but still managed to put on about 15 extra pounds. Now that im done with college ILl be serving with Femacorps/Americorps for the next 10 months and want to really get into shape. i struggle with depression and anxiety so keeping up a workout schedule is hard for me, but im interested to see where this adventure goes.
I specifically am interested in the combination of nutrition and beachbody workouts/exercise in overcoming mental illness and usng it as a medication enhancement or even potential replacement. The effects and results are very interesting to me.
On February 24th, I finished my first COMPLETE round of Insanity! And boy, my life has changed. I lost about 5 lbs, 3 inches on my waist, and 2 inches on my hips. My entire body has toned up, my heart is amazingly strong, and even more strong is my mind. On February 25th, I started my P90x/Insanity hybrid. I didnt want to completely put my insanity dvds aside, so I am doing 2 days a week instead of the plyo and cardio dvds on p90x.
My main reason for going to p90x is that I seriously need to strengthen my body. Insanity toned me up and made me be back in shape. Now, I need to work on my upper body. Before insanity, I could barely do 1 push up. Now I can do about 10 in a minute. I look forward to putting on lean muscle and getting stronger.
My specific challenge is that I am traveling the country for the next 4 months - not in a stable location for more than a week at a time. I HAVE to use supplements and coulnd't live without them. I Use shakeology, Energy and Endurance, and p90x results and recovery drink. It helps me reach my nutritional goals while traveling and on the move - and these supplements dont spoil. It really does help. I have been working out anywhere I can - specifically in a hotel stairwell. I have very limited space in my travels, so I will be using the bodylastics resistance band kit for their lifetime warranty.

Coming into this with clinical depression and anxiety, I did not think I would even last a day. Boy way I wrong. I am now on day 32 and I have been eating and feeling better than ever. Bette than any medication!!! I haven't lost much weight, but that is not what matters. It's about the toning I have gained, how much more fit and slim I look! I cannot wait to continue my journey and help others reach theirs!
