After having my first child, I not only kept on my pregnancy weight but added more to it. When my son turned 2, I decided to get serious and reclaim my old body. I hired a trainer, spent hundreds of dollars between private sessions and the gym but Hi, my name is Tawanna and I'm originally from Brooklyn, NY. Motherhood started me on the downhill course of neglecting myself and my body. After having my first child, I not only kept on my pregnancy weight but added more to it. When my son turned 2, I decided to get serious and reclaim my old body. I hired a trainer, spent hundreds of dollars between private sessions and the gym but eventually got down to the size I was at before pregnancy. And of course, I got pregnant again soon after reaching my goal. The second time around, I reached a whopping 226 pounds. After having the baby, I took off 30 pounds but was stuck in a zone. I went back to the gym but decided not to hire a trainer this time because I felt like I knew what I needed to know, it was just a matter of pushing myself. After waking up every morning at 4am to get to the gym and burn calories before the rest of the house woke up, I managed to take off maybe 10 pounds but that's where the weight loss stopped. One early morning I saw an infomercial for P90X. I thought I'd buy it for my husband and do it with him but realized quickly that I needed to add more cardio to my routine before I felt comfortable enough to tackle the X. Then I saw a Turbo Jam infomercial and after several early mornings of repeat infomercial programming and my own speculation, decided to give it a try. When I got it after only 3 days of ordering it, I ripped open the package and did my first workout. After that I was hooked! Within one month, I had lost more inches than I did within several months of working out at the gym. I joined the message boards and connected with other like-minded individuals and learned about other really affective BB programs. Slim in 6 was my next challenge. After completing both of those programs, for a total of 3 months, I went from a 14/6 to an 8, losing 36 pounds in the process. Since then I've done a round of P90X, another round of Turbo Jam and have also completed Chalean Extreme and Insanity. I'm down to a size 2/4 with a total weight loss of 52 pounds and countless inches. I am below my prepregnancy weight and have surpassed my initial goals. I am more fit than I've ever been in my life and look forward to the next challenge. I love doing the workouts and I love telling people about them even more - that's why I signed up to be a Beachbody coach. I know it sounds like a cliche, but if I can do it, so can you. Remember, the journey is usually more of a marathon than a race...slow and steady. It just takes dedication, motivation, resilience, and pure grit to push play every morning. Before getting involved with BeachBody I was struggling to shed my post pregnancy weight. I had done Weight Watchers, South Beach Diet before but for some reason, this time around, after my second pregnancy, I felt like I was going to need to work a little harder to lose the extra 32 pounds. I started going back to the gym and was running my butt off, but I wasn’t really getting the results I was looking for. One morning, EARLY in the morning, I saw the infomercial for Turbo Jam. I didn’t pay it much attention. The next morning I saw it again and something told me that I should just try it. So I went online and did my due diligence on it. It had such rave reviews and awesome testimonials that I thought, hey, this may be the thing for me. As soon as it was delivered, I opened it and pushed play to try it out. I loved that very first instructional workout. The next day I began the 10 day Quick Start program and after 10 strict dieting and working out days, I had lost 7 pounds and 8 inches. I was hooked and totally sold! I signed up for a coach after about 3 weeks of using the system because I knew that I could be an inspiration to other women, new moms especially, and men who felt like they tried everything but couldn’t lose the weight. The wealth of information I gathered off the message boards was what has helped me achieve losing 19 pounds in only 6 weeks! It was like the fat was just being peeled off of me and that I had all the little pointers and “secrets” that my body needed to transform quickly and efficiently. My weight loss and fitness gain have helped me regain my physical self-confidence. It has given me more energy to deal with the daily stresses of being a mom; it has improved my marriage; it has made me passionate about fitness, eating clean and healthy, being a vessel of information for others looking to achieve their weight loss goals, and pushing my body to the max. I am excited about the possibilities and looking forward to new fitness challenges. I’m just as busy as the next person but I’ve chosen not to accept excuses from myself – to just do what I have to do – and overcome obstacles. I’ve learned that I have to be a warrior, a beast about this if I want to achieve my heart’s desire and that’s what I’m doing. If you’d also like to be a warrior and are tired of being tired, then I’m the right coach for you. I’ve done it fast and safe, and you can too!
